Mumma Scully!!! I'm here for you girl! You deserve all the love and happiness and all your dreams and wishes to come to fruition! The scene where she gets turned down to become a parent was a painful watch and I think we got to learn more about Scully and her desires/goals as well as her taking the time to really reflect on life after her cancer. Cant wait to see the next one!

I cannot understand how this episode got such a low IMDB rating. Here we have a mixture of the paranormal and the mythology too with Scully going through it again. This time the strange phone call leading her to a little girl. Scully is convinced the little girl is in some way linked to Melissa her dead sister. Scully is convinced it is no suicide of the woman found in the bath from where the call was made, and even though the Detective is sceptical she manages to make him have doubts too. Bill Scully as usual again is acting like one big Super Jerk here. This episode is a poignant exploration of grief, family, and the complexities of personal relationships. What is amazing about this episode again is even though we are without Mulder throughout it still manages to be brilliant in it's execution of the story. We all feel the anguish and pain with her that she knows she can never be a mother herself due to her illness and the experiments that were carried out on her, but what a cliffhanger at the end with the reveal that the DNA test shows she could be Emily's mother. A really good part 2 coming up as well here.

Vert Scully-centric episode here. I like that they chose Christmas, it's synonymous with family and being together! Ironically it's also the height of suicides during the year. But I prefer to focus on the positive. This episode did not have a lot of positive though. It was very supernatural driven. Scully receives a mysterious phone call from a woman who could not have made it, where she stumbles into a definite X-Files case. That a little girl who was adopted might have been Scully's niece was a great way to dial up the feels. Her family dismissed it out of hand because it did sound crazy. Melissa would have told her family about it. Dana, at least, would have known. That scene at the car was so sad. The little girl being buckled it by someone she didn't know. I can't imagine how a woman would feel in that moment. Then at the end when Scully gets the DNA results, she discovers that it was HERS all along!!!! Now we have a start for part two.
