Hello All!

I just have a lot of feelings okay! Seeing Scully fight with her future wishes and those of Emily was a difficult but beautiful watch. Mulder being there by her side and wanting to figure things out was great to see, as always. Still a very sad outcome and hopefully this fuels their determination to stop these experiments!!!

An adult sized coffin with no body is one thing, but a child sized one is an entirely different vibe. I smacks of something sinister. This whole episode stank of the sinister from the start. Scully and Mulder siding with the angels to keep , well angels, safe and protected. And these other forces who are doing god knows what, to some unknown purpose.

Again the X-Files always seems to be able to meld the very human story alongside the mythology and supernatural occurrences. Here Scully is being emotionally being put through the ringer again, but at Mulder is back here to assist her. Emily it seems is some sort of human alien hybrid, and when the cyst is discovered on her neck we just know it's going to burst with the green alien blood. Favourite scene is when Mulder actually loses it with the so called Doctor and again it is is human emotive side taking over his professional side. Really weird when the Judge makes the Michael Crichton comment, as when Mulder is looking at the the fetus in the jar it could be lifted straight from Michael Crichton's brilliant film Coma when Michael Douglas when he finds the secret lab. Mulder of course has a vial of the green fluid, but sadly they could not save Emily. A brilliant transition when Scully puts her head next to Emily and it dissolves to the stained glass window with Mary and Jesus. A brilliant shot in the church when Mulder comes in and we see the long shot with the hanging crucifix. Scully makes the ultimate sacrifice, recognizing Emily was created as part of an agenda and without love, ultimately decides to let her die to prevent her from being used further by the alien conspirators. Her pain and anguish is so real here, a brilliant ending to this great mini arc.

You know how much we love you gushing about Scully and Mulder's dynamic. Lightning in a bottle. The perfect set of actors brought to life by some exceptional writing. Unmatched. There have been a lot of shows over the years with great duos as leads that I love, but the organic bond that's grown between these two, has never truly been replicated imo. Sigh. Do carry on lass, I'm here for it all!
