Poor Eve. She is a good person. Smart and kind, but she idolized Lucifer as the guy he was.

Super Bad Boyfriend- I want to express my thoughts to you about Lucifer and his feelings towards why he doesn't like how Chloe sees him either. It isn't because he doesn't like the version of him that she sees... Lucifer wants to be good. He loves the version of himself he is with Chloe. Because he's truly happy, and he loves her. So he's happy with her. Which is why Lucifer chose to come back into the light in the previous episode by turning Tiernan in instead of hurting him, or worse. Because he wants to be good. And this is why Chloe sees him as a good man and as an angel. However, Lucifer hates that she sees him this way, because he doesn't. Lucifer hates himself because he sees himself as a monster and by Chloe seeing him as something more than what he can see in himself, Lucifer feels that her feelings towards him is nothing more than a lie. And Lucifer just doesn't know how to cope with these feelings. To Lucifer... he is a monster and has been seen as such for several millennia, or since the beginning of time. And he's only finally come to understand this at last. And it's so heartbreaking. But I absolutely love this overall storyline for Lucifer this season! And I cannot wait for you to see these final two episodes within season four!! Also... I do not believe Lucifer loves Eve, and never has loved her. He's been uncomfortable around Eve ever since she's come back into his life. Yes... they had fun together both in the past and in the present, and he allowed himself to become what she wanted him to be, but it's only because he felt he had to. Because deep down... how Eve sees him, is how he sees himself. When it's not truly who he really is. Eve has told Lucifer that she accepts him for being the man that even he believes he is, when he isn't. And she of course believes him to be the carefree, reckless Devil, and she loves this side of him too. So, it's understandable that he would stay with Eve for so long, thinking that she is the only person who could ever love him for who he believes is all he is. Especially when he and Chloe were struggling so much after she discovers the truth about Lucifer truly being the Devil. Since Chloe couldn't accept him for a while. All in all... Lucifer just wants Eve to be happy, even though he's been making himself feel miserable in their relationship. Thank you for another great reaction! Sincerely, Heidi

I watched the early seasons, but these are the first several eps I've watched first-timing with your reactions, and mmmm. I would say that Chloe and Eve represent "good" and "evil" / "old" and "new" , and both disrespect the fact that he will be a combination of both/or that he was never suited to this binary perspective they're both trying to push upon him. That said, once again, Lucifer is really causing all of his issues when it comes to being unable to outright just break-up with Eve, and she actually changed herself to try and suit him. Because she is fresh to Earth and her first new relationship in some time, she adopted his fake hobbies to make him happy. That was a stunningly harsh way to break up with her so I can see that going sideways, but I hope not. ( Do wanna see more Eve and Maze! ) And yiii, Dan is fucked. He has nobody really checking in on him except Ella and she's also going through shit. Dude, Amenadiel. That was the star ( is he ever not?? ) of this episode with all the social commentary and I do wonder whether angels are actually in their true forms for him to identify so strongly with his skin color. It's an interesting thing. And yiii, I felt sooo strongly for him, and I actually thought it'd end poorly much earlier tbh. I thought before he could get the money, the kid would end up dead, so at leeeeeeast they had a talk first? Oof. The prophecy, tbh, sounds a bit closer to Amenadiel's child. They said Devil, right? I don't know if Lucifer and Devil are synonymous, but who knows really. Hell, it could even mean Linda got pregnant just as Lucifer realized he was in love with Chloe, and evil is just the nephilim. That's a bit of a stretch, but I doubt it'll actually be true evil given the ambiance of the show.

A really great reaction to a very emotional episode and I cried on watching and even though it is a rewatch for me (many times) the scenes with Caleb's death and amenadiel still cause tears to prickle the back of my eyes. I loved the placing of Amenadiel's most prized possession, the necklace, around Caleb's neck, the placing of his hand and casting his eyes heavenwards as I always thought that was a ticket to the Silver City and Amenadiel's last way to try and help Caleb- I hope so. Eveyone seemed to be struggling this episode with their own problems of varying degrees but at the end seeing Luci is so much pain, feeling he was drowning under the weight of all those negative emotions and finally admitting his own self-hatred was so heartbreaking

William Lawrence

Not ashamed to admit I balled my eyes out during the first watch-through of this episode. Also, that ending.. great acting from Tom. Up to this point I believed Netflix was doing such a good job with taking the reigns. (I woke up at 4AM to binge the entire season as soon as it was released lol)

What an episode! To see some of the episodes from earlier seasons to this episode and to see how much the show has grown. This ep is such good storytelling. Even though it is heartbreaking its one of my favs. Amenediel is such an underrated character and such a strong presence on the show, his storyline this ep broke me. Seeing the breakup scene was rough, Its true that eve and him just aren't right for each other and lucifer obviously is having a hard time accepting himself and trying to change for eve and even Chloe is hard on him, I think he needs to figure out who he wants to be before he's with anyone. Also I was happy with the maze and eve scenes they are cute I got to say. Dan is obviously spiraling and struggling with that side of him from season one. he's still a favorite of mine so it sucks to see him this way. Overall a great ep!

Amenadiel is the father we all want. Tho I am concerned about his intentions, w/regards to his & Linda's baby.. This was an incredibly sad episode. I know I connected to Caleb - a one time character. I credit that to the actor for making me feel him, even tho I'm a middle aged white woman and can't understand his perspective of being a young black man in the US.
I had no problem w/how Lucifer broke up with Eve. She needed to hear that because she's becoming obsessed with him. She seems to be repeating similar mistakes she made w/Adam.

Everyone has already said a lot of what I would want to say to this episode, but yes, I definitely got emotional in this episode. It broke me. Tom Ellis was brilliant in his emotional scenes, especially that last scene with Linda. Absolute brilliance. I gotta say though, it was the Amenadel storyline that really stayed with me. It was so powerful and strong and brilliantly portrayed in its realism.

When I first watched this episode I was utterly broken after this episode.... so many tears...

that "why do i hate myself so much?" line hits a little close

Eve is awesome . I shed a tear watching you shed a tear .

I wasn’t hurt by thinking Eve was his first love. For God’s sake Chloe knew Pierce for less than a month and fell in love with him. All it took was a beach date, a concert, and a motorcycle ride to get her naked and in love. Not mad at Lucifer and Eve at all.
