I have watched season 6 I am curious what kind of political agenda do you mean? Because I agree that almost everything that is made in the last 5-10 years is very political. But I didn't noticed it in season 6 off Lucifer.

"I'm your daughter!" is one of the major WTF moments of this season. As for the animation, I found it interesting that Jimmy was watching mainly Hanna-Barbera cartoons (I actually recognized most of them...I watched them when I was young). However, the animation style of Jimmy's Hell-Loop was definitely Warner Brothers (gee, I wonder why ;-) ). Speaking of that, when Lauren was doing her lines for the audio, there was a bit of a problem. When it was played back, she could hear her voice as a bit of a montotone. So the recording director asked her if she could be a bit more...well, animated when she did them.

finally you find out what this "chick" is all about since i have low standards already i enjoyed the episode as a whole :D also kinda surprised that the maze Amenadel stuff felt weak to you but if that's what you think fair enough glad to finally be back with you on this journey 7 more left :)

That was a shocker. I was pretty curious about the new angel and why we never saw her before. Now I'm even more curious and where the heck she's been all this time. Those wings. I gotta know how they came to be like that. Didn't know that angels could create other angels. You'd think heaven would be overrun with angels if that were the case. Looking forward to answers. I'm not binging the show like others, so I don't know the answers. I'm taking it slow. I am also worried about Chloe. I don't like how she's acting. That necklace is a lot for angels to handle, let alone a mere human. It can't be good for her. Lucifer should be worried, given how she's acting. It's frustrating me that he isn't. Dan - well, I figured it wouldn't be that easy for him to come back. That there had to be a reason why Lucifer didn't just do it. So now he's a ghost. ugh I won't talk about the cartoon stuff.

Chantal Griffin

I will say, with regards to Trixie - she'll be around a bit, but not nearly as much as you may want her to be in this season, because from my understanding the actress (Scarlett Estevez) now has a contract with Disney and there were a lot of scheduling issues with her, so she does have very limited screen time in season 6 unfortunately. I, too, am continuing to be concerned for Chloe at this point! That necklace is clearly not good for her, and I hope she and Lucifer are able to realize it soon. Personally, I really liked the animated sequence - mostly just because I like it when shows like this take risks, try different things, and aren't afraid to just be ridiculous. I *do* feel that, paired up with the stuff with Amenadiel and his training officer, which is obviously a much more serious situation, it makes this episode a little bit weird tonally - even for Lucifer! Dan continues to be amazing, however, and his storyline is so interesting. I never disliked him, but who knew that being dead would make him an even better character than before! The final moment with the new angel lady is just such a classic Lucifer shocker/cliffhanger, I feel like I should've seen it coming, but I still didn't. It was definitely a jaw-dropper.

as a father, this twist with jimmy actually broke me

The problem with Jimmy Barnes being his abandonment issue made it easy for Lucifer to relate. The cartoon excerpts I didn't really have any problem with, after all the show has always tried to bring humour along for the ride. And I had to chuckle that the 80's were "Definitely worse" than the cartoon world. Maze messing with Amenadiel and him taking it far too seriously, is kind of their thing at this stage. As is Maze not wanting to admit to "weak" emotions like friendship and caring. So the idea of Maze trying to support him, but going about it in a totally unsuitable way was pretty much on point. Chloe's behaviour. Now there's a thing. You mentioned the salient facts yourself one or twice. Chloe is at this point demonstrating the signs of a damaging and controlling addiction. Sometimes those in a close relationship with an addict don't readily recognize the signs at first. Especially when it is not something you equate with the one who is falling into addiction. Why would Chloe become addicted to the power she is imbued with by being in possession of Amenadiel's pendant? Let's face it she is a mortal living amongst and with celestials anything that could help her cope with feeling insignificant and vulnerable is sure to be quite alluring. So yes, Chloe's not behaving in a good way, but addicts don't. Dan is a hard one to get a handle on. He does have tendency to revert to a Douche setting but deep down you can see how he managed to get Chloe to agree to marry him originally. But this whole episode was really about watching your face when Lucifer gets hit with a reverse 'Darth Vader' with the "I'm your daughter". The first time of watching this unfold was quite something, I was so glad I'd avoided all the trailers and spoilers that were doing the rounds before the release.

I'm rather glad they didn't make a special cartoon episode. The ride from crazy to caring was more relatable and poignant. I think Maze in still in character, not quite able to admit that she cares and when she cares bringing a twist to it. Thanks for your reaction.

Do need to keep in mind thst S5 was original intended as the series end. So much so that it's ending had to be rewritten to allow S6. My (unpopular) opinion is the writing this season is a bit weak and uneven. It felt, to me, like they were more interested in pushing some political agenda than storytelling. This is a second watch through with commentary and knowing context helps.
