Hello All!

Here we gooooo! Ep 2 now watched, my interest is growing. I love chuckling at the fashion & tech because it's so nostalgic to me haha. The sound effects make me smile too. I can't wait to learn more about the characters & see who my favs end up to be. My guess is that Willow will be my favourite tbh but we shall see, it's very early days!

My schedule for Buffy will be 2 episodes a week here on Patreon. Hopefully one on a Tuesday & one on a Thursday :) please check updated Tiers.

Thank you all so so much for watching, hope you all enjoy the video & I will look forward to reading your comments as always,

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

So glad you’re reacting to Buffy :). I was a Patron of yours about a year ago for Supernatural and Lucifer, but had to stop for a few months. When I saw you were starting Buffy though, I had to resubscribe :). Buffy was my first fandom back in the late 90s/early 00’s (I was 15 when I started watching on BBC2 and then Sky One in early 1999), and it’s been really cool rediscovering the show again in 2020/2021 through reactors - I’m looking forward to experiencing your journey through the show :). Don’t worry about laughing at some of the CGI and dated technology - makes me laugh too :P Oh, you wondered what the blonde girl talking to Cordelia in the computer lab had been in… she was in the S3 Supernatural episode Fresh Blood (she played a vampire). She was also in Addams Family movies in the early 90s.

Enjoyed that. So good to see those old epi's again. Glad you enjoyed it. I've seen it tons of times already but still get sucked in. I love Willow and just looking back on this show now. it was miles ahead of current shows in certain aspects. Giles was deff to close though. Looked very uncomfortable.

Bart Aansorgh

and with that i ment with willow being the tech person :)

Samantha Bailey

If you haven't already seen it you should check out the Buffy the Vampire movie that aired before the series. The series picks from the movie just with a different cast.

Samantha Bailey

I also never realized that the symbol drawn on Luke's forehead looks like an incomplete diagram of the female uterus.

Ed Green

Joss Whedon has said that only his original script for the movie is canon to the show, rather than the movie itself. I would support the idea though - another of my reactors who is just about to finish Buffy is going to watch the movie afterwards.

Bart Aansorgh

i have to say i dont mis those computers xD. slow as hell, and those screens hurt my eyes now that im used to modern ones xD

Purple Nurple

Why are you suffering in the cold when I know you've had at least 3 comfy blankets delivered in your PO Box! Have one on standby

Toasted Toad

Really enjoying your reactions. It’s bringing back some fresh flavour to something I’d grown a bit bored of due to over-watching! I love Willow so much. “Deliver” 😂😂😂😂😂

Jon Freezin-Rain

Yeah. the movie's not part of the Show canon

Samantha Bailey

It may not be canon but the first episode of the series talks about some of the stuff that happened in the movie and could make clear about some of the questions Dakara had.

Purple Nurple

Willow is awesome, this episode just shows that straight away

Stacey

so happy you have started BTVS this is my favourite show of all time so I am very excited to watch along with you :))

DB

Regarding Jesse - Whedon actually wanted Eric Balfour in the opening credits to make his death even more of a shock. Turned out it costs a lot of money to include an actor in such manner and they were already on a ridiculously low budget (which shows in S1 special effects for sure lol) so that didn't happen. I'm sure you've already been told many times that BtVS operates on metaphors. It's very early ofc but they've already been establishing here that the vampires represent the obstacles in maturing/growing up. They're never getting older, like an eternal teenager. Thus that schoolgirl outfit and the vamp Buffy recognizes at the Bronze by him wearing outdated fashion. Also it feels sexual because it is ;) For centuries vampirism in folklore has been associated with human sexuality. This show uses the traditional mythology as its source, dusting aside for practical reasons.

really enjoyed that dakara your face says it all this truly is going to be a great show for you as you say the tech the costumes ect and dont forget the music :) youre get used to the cheesy effects its like if anyone watched xena for example they would laugh at them but a great show is a great show no matter if it looks a little dated or not its part of its charm and youre grow to love it just the way it is :) you did look a little cold there get snuggled up for the next one winters coming and we have quite the journey :) one of which is going to be such a blast roll on episode 3

Shashank

Saw your twitter post about starting Buffy and just had to join right away. You were one of the first reactors I saw on YT with the early walking dead reactions, so super excited to see you react to my fav show ever!

Josee (Griffe)

I think you nailed the roles of the trio. Buffy is the badass, Willow is the tech support. Xander is the brave, babble mouth, soft one. He is really insecure in his masculinity, maybe because he his softer than what was consider cool back in the days. He was hoping against all hopes for Jesse to still be in there even after Giles told him to the contrary . He didn't want to lose his friend. I bet he's traumatized now that he killed Jesse, even if only by accident.

John Bieleny

God I love Buffy, and was thinking about a re-watch, can now watch with you

Jim Greer

Cordelia (Charisma) was in an episode of Lucifer . She played the cheating wife of the martial arts expert that Uriel tried to get to shoot Chloe .

That’s Not Acting

I'm excited you finally jumped into this one! Can't wait for... you know... things to happen... :p

That’s Not Acting

The actress who plays Harmony was in an episode of Supernatural.... She played a vampire.
