Hello All!

This episode had some key points on reflection, delving deeper into Buffy's mind & family life was enlightening & so sad too. She was so worried her actions & becoming a Slayer had detrimental effects on her parents relationship. I'm sure that had nothing to do with their separation but it's hard to see Buffy worrying about this & her fears becoming a 'reality'. I would have thought we would have got a more plot heavy episode with us coming closer tot he finale now, only two more eps to go?!!

No, you weren't wrong. This takes place in California and Billy is a child, so it should have been kiddie league; but in reality it actually should've been little league as kiddie has been outdated for decades.

it has been ages since i saw this one. It always was a mixed feeling one. On one hand i think it was really interesting, and they connected the fears well. On the other hand..... giant wasps. Nope. still shivering when i think about it. The interaction between them was great again. The humour was strong in this one :)

I actually really love this one because it's giving us such lovely insight into characters. All the fears Buffy faces start with the essence of her as a regular girl (failing test at school, being a reason for her parents divorce) and bridge through being buried alive into a Slayer territory with a fear of becoming what she fights. Becoming a monster. The metaphorical monster is extremely heavily present in the episode. There's the Ugly Man connecting Buffy to Billy through a fear of something bad being their fault. There's Hank Summers becoming a monster through his words by shifting the blame onto his daughter, even if only in her nightmares. There's Giles taking over the paternal role, with or without Hank around. He's the one expressing fears of every parent - of failing a child, not preparing them for what adulthood might bring. And then there's the Master who is the only literal monster thriving thanks to all these metaphorical fears. Buffy is still unable to face him, both in her nightmares and in this reality. She fights someone else's monster instead because at this point I think it's just easier. Xander is the only one to conquer his fear (It's not an accident he fears a clown and tells him how unfunny he was before punching him. Xander is the clown of the group, the one constantly joking).

That’s Not Acting

Loved the reaction, once again. Just throwing it out there, your confusion about what made Billy so special and why he was able to affect everything the way he was. He actually wasn’t special at all. It wasn’t him that was special it’s the location. The thing that they talk about is that the Hellmouth is a ”center of mystical convergence” — really all they’re saying is that a bunch of supernatural energy is focused and concentrated in the area. This could potentially make many things possible that wouldn’t necessarily happen anywhere else. Like, for instants, a young boy who was beaten and traumatized by his kiddie-league coach having his fears and emotional pain exacerbated by the energy of the Hellmouth until essentially it infects the reality around him. Anyway, love videos can’t wait for the next one.

Enjoyed this reaction as I always do cordellia was pretty funny ngl missed the chair dancing #sad face but man those spiders are a no just no that's right NOOO!! however even worse my biggest fear buried alive, 😱 I can't nope nope nope now I'm imagining being buried alive with spiders OMFG screw that 😱. I will take the creepy ass clown instead ty 😀 anyways was fun watching along with you dak and I look forward to the next one

hopefully you watch every episode, this is one of the series I rewatch every few years, along with stargate. Would be good to be able to rewatch it with someone's reaction to it.

the kitty league coach is in jail because he put the boy in the hospital, seemed to be some confusion about that.

Why did the subtitle say "kitty league coach" haha, whenever the coach came into the hospital room. *edit* Oh it stands for Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee league, weird. Today I learned.

Buffy's nightmare scene with her dad is in my top 3 of heartbreaking scenes from this show. When he says "I don't really get anything out of these weekends," my heart breaks for her.
