Hello All!

A Halloween special & a brilliant one at that. Spike is back & spooking me again! Willow being a bad ass ghost with gained confidence, Xander being a soldier willing to fight to the death, Buffy a helpless damsel in distress - what a change of events haha. Very fun episode to watch!

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

Buffy not staking Spike has always made sense to me. You can’t say that she could have easily killed him, since we have seen over and again Buffy and villains get out of such predicaments. She had the position of dominance and she let him run away because there were so many innocent people around (a lot of them children) that she was protecting. She won the battle. What was going on behind the scenes, with writers and executives, is neither here nor there – it may be interesting but has nothing to do with the story as we have it. Yeah, like many things, it requires suspension of disbelief but isn’t a big stretch, by any means. I do wish you had seen Giles when Willow entered the library. Good reaction, though, as always.

Claire Eyles

Oh look, it's my ship arriving. Giles/Ethan, right on schedule. :D

Meredith

I love this episode. Spike and his child demon army cracks me up!

Alan Pownall

"Hello Ripper", I love the way Giles just switches to be completely cold and ruthless.

Claire Eyles

Random Buffy trivia: The words for Ethan's spell are "Janus, evoco vestram animam. Exaudi meam causam. Carpe noctem pro consilio vestro. Veni, appare et nobis monstra quod est infinita potestas. Persona se corpum et sanguium commutandum est. Vestra sancta praesentia concrescet viscera. Janus! Sume noctem!" Translation: "Janus, hear my plea. Take this as your own. Come forth and show us your truth. The mask is made flesh. The heart is curdled by your holy presence. Janus, this night is yours." (loosely translated).

This a definitely a season 02 fan favorite. It's such a fun idea. It's great to start seeing a little of Giles' backstory. You missed one of the funniest moments of the episode while you were making notes. Rewatch the scene where Willow goes to get Giles and she scares the crap out of him when she walks through the wall. It's only a few seconds but it is hysterical. 😂 Fun fact: this episode has inspired a huge amount of Buffy fan fiction which generally involves what might have happened if the gang has chosen different costumes.

I love how he just randomly recruits a bunch of kids 🤣

Ian

Really fun episode this Zander as a soldier amused me very much ngl , drucilla is so great gotta agree dak I kinda love her too she's totally bonkers but her voice is brilliant please continue to copy her I love hearing it lol , who is that girl ? Well Oz go ask her already 😉 cheers for the cracking reaction dak loved it loved it loved it 🥰

That’s Not Acting

I was absolutely rolling when you were staring at your phone as Willow into the library. I just knew that in your comments it was going to be just all-caps kind of comments, lol. You should send whoever that was from your discord a gift basket or something because they probably saved you many headaches lol. Great reaction good episode. One of my favorites. Yes Spike should’ve died. Joss wanted to kill him but the studio executive said no because the fans liked him… And I’m not gonna say anything, but I have some very strong feelings about this subject. As a you will find many people in the Buffy fandom do. Regardless, great reaction. Can’t wait to see the next one.

Jim Greer

Spike is scary , Drusilla is terrifying .

Meredith

Agreed- she scared me more than any of the other vampires when I first watch this show as a kid!

Merkavar

Is the reason a vampire could enter the house was because it was technically unoccupied as buffy was no longer buffy? Assuming her mother is off someone also transformed into a cat lady or what ever Halloween costume she might be wearing?

Bart Aansorgh

Great episode. Really funny moments. And Willow steals the show as usual. Can't wait for the rest an everything else that willn happand :D

madfem

buffy suits the dark hair bc SMG is a natural brunette ;)

Tim Pierce

I always felt that the "vampire" wasn't a real vampire, but a human wearing the costume, and therefore the rules didn't apply. Good thing Angel never staked him.

Venice Bitch

My fave episode from S2. Just love the idea of turning the people into their chosen outfit. Rupert finally showed us his badass side😩
