Hello All!

WARNING: Dakrya returns in this reaction! The scene with Willow & Buffy felt so heavy to me & hit hard. They acted so well & I could see things from both POVs. I just wanted them to hug & makeup & THEY DID!!!! Great episode guys. TMOTW was a little on the lacking side but I genuinely LOVED this episode as my attention was on the key group & their relationships.

Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Reaction 3X02-1.mp4

Raven Dark

Pat is the woman who was Joyce's friend and put on the mask near the end. Buffy slammed the shovel into her face and killed both the demon, and, by necessity, her. When she came out of the house and ran into Buffy, she introduced herself as Pat.

Christopher simeon

These first two episodes were needed to clear the board and resolve the tensions from buffy leaving. Now we can start the new season. Cordy was trying to stand up for buffy but it came out wrong. Everyone this episode were holding in their feelings but Buffy not telling the gang what happened with Angel is the catalyst to those feelings. They can't empathize properly without knowing the full story of what happened. All they see is buffy abandoning them after killing her demon boyfriend. Saying nothing and just leaving. For joyce it is not even that. They had one fight and buffy left. That is scary as a parent. Joyce was emotional and said the wrong thing. She definitely does not realize why buffy really left. Everything they say is true but it all comes out at the worst emotional states. Everyone but giles had something to say to buffy and it all coming at once made it seem way worse. But letting it out is what resolved it. The zombies were there to unit them again as the gang. One of buffy's flaws is keeping her emotions from her loved ones or not expressing them.

Chas Summers

One of my least favorite eps after Giles' apartment. Everything here feels crammed in so that we can clear the deck. The verbal fight scene at the end sounds like written dialogue and not human speech.

Dave Ford

Oh, not a word about Pat?! Consider the city's perspective - Buffy, a girl with a trouble history of firestarting who got kicked out of her previous school and who violently assaulted her mother's last partner, assaulted a teacher and then gets involved in a murder on school property, runs away from home, comes back, throws a rave which results in her house being trashed and her mom's best friend dead with a garden fork through her face. No wonder Snyder wants her expelled. All Pat was doing was being a good friend to Joyce. Poor Pat.

Tim Pierce

I agree with your points but still "do you like my mask? It raises the dead. Americans!" is possibly the funniest Giles line on the show.

Dave Ford

"She's quite a good poet. I mean, for a ..." "A girl?" "An American."

Beny

To be fair, Pat just vanished, so there is no body with a gardenfork in their face. Although whether someone mysteriously vanishing and never being seen by anyone again is better for her reputation is questionable.

The BLOOB

Ayyyy you get it dakara you get it... Ain't about the zombies. It's the relationships. This is why I love ur reactions 🤌

The BLOOB

Wow I actually disagree entirely and feel that scene comes off as one of the more realistic scenes we've seen so far.

The BLOOB

Who the hell is Pat?

Ed Green

Personally I love this episode. The conflicts and character choices are compelling, the Buffy/Willow conclusion is heartwarming, and the zombies and their entry to the house are hilarious.

Abby

Not my favorite episode—might be an unpopular opinion, but the way they all ganged up on her at the party always made me uncomfortable. And made it borderline unwatchable for me. Maybe it's because she's my favorite character EVER, but it just felt like they had no empathy for Buffy and I really wanted them to be more forgiving rather than just blame her for everything. Its like they never considered her feelings, just their own. Also, the way Xander called her out was totally out of line, IMO.

x_Rhi_x

Nah its not an unpopular opinion

Gabriel Mauller

Always nice when Ripper comes out to play.

Ian

That Kittie had no luck it died came bk as some kinda zombie Kittie and still got no petting 😥 . Not my favourite episode tbh but a nice scene with Buffy and willow 🙂 keep those tissues closer at hand in future dak 😃 Salem was sleeping so good I wouldn't wanna disturb her either 🙂

Pumpkin 3.14

I love that you cry while watching these shows. I probably wouldn't be subscribed to your patreon if you weren't emotional. All of my favorite reactors are emotional.

ADDButterfly

The way he said it and how it was said was out of line. There were so many different ways they could talk to her about how they felt. But it needed to be said. She needed to know how actions have consequences. But embarrassing her in front of other people is a horrible thing to do. I get severely embarrassed when I am scolded in front of other people, so always do it in private. Like WTF.

The BLOOB

Why does everyone harp on Xander, when Joyce and Willow were being just as bad? I'll never understand that. I think Buffy was hurt by Willow's reactions to her more than anyone.

The BLOOB

While I agree with ALL OF THAT... I think it's important to add that Buffy, like many of us, was dealing with some serious mental health issues and understanding/forgiveness, even without knowing all the details, should be considered for someone you love. I thought they had every right to feel how they feel, But I completely understand Buffy's need to get away... and I'm sure many of us have felt that way before. I think everyone handled everything poorly.

TheLoungingPotato

I actually appreciate this episode, too. But only for the emotional stuff. The monster of the week was just...eh, for me, for lack of a better term. But yeah, I can definitely see both sides to Willow and Buffy's argument. Xander, on the other hand, was being wayyyy too harsh. I do love that Cordelia did her best to try and defend Buffy, though. Even if it came off the way it did lol

Robin Gibbons

It drives me nuts too. This is probably my 15th Buffy reactor and reading comments over the majority of the fans, they really like to gang up on Xander. At least the first 3-4 seasons

Robin Gibbons

I love how you've picked up on the outstanding acting from Sarah Michelle Gellar already. She really just is next level and carries the show unlike any actor I can think of. She's in 90% of the scenes. I totally understand her being burned out by season 7

Abby

The reason I don't like Xander in this episode is because he lied to Buffy in the finale, which caused this whole mess with her having to kill Angel instead of stalling him, and is now acting like he has the right to be morally superior. It aggravates me. And even if what he's saying is true, which it's not; calling her stupid and all of that unnecessary stuff. But Cordelia even calls him out on his meanness. He just sounds bitter, immature, and completely hateful. Joyce and Willow, despite being upset with Buffy as well, never seemed hateful or mean to me. So, I don't go as hard on them. That's my reasoning, anyways. Other people might see it differently !!

Bart Aansorgh

I actually quite like this monster of the week. Just because it makes the monster less important, and they can give more focus to the other issues at hand that need resolving. It made the episode really revolve around their relationships instead of the monster. Ruthless Giles can pummel snyder every day for my part :). I love how cordy stepped up for Buffy, even if it was her way completely. I agree they all were kind of blind to buffy's situation and focused on what they felt, which makes sense. All in all, I quite like this episode, though I don't care for Pat xD.

Erica Schaefer

So many phenomenal Giles moments in this ep! Being quietly overcome by emotion in his kitchen when Buffy returns? (ASH knocks it out of the park). The singsong mocking to himself in the car as he races to Buffy's house to warn them of the zombie demon? Threatening Snyder? And other little one liners throughout the ep. So good! As for the rest, we definitely needed things with the Scoobies to come to a head so they could deal. We can't just ignore Buffy running away for the summer, but we also need to deal with it so we can move on from last season. We might as well do it with a zombie cat, I suppose.

Jim Greer

Sorry Dakara but I have to say I never really liked Willow & Xander before this episode ,they are my two least favourite characters in the entire series . If any of my so-called friends attacked me like they did they would be out of life forever . The fact that Cordillia stood up for Buffy made me like her even more .

Josee (Griffe)

The writers detained Giles with zombies for a reason; things would have not escalade as much with the scooby gang if he had been there. And I love Xander for all his flaws, but he was really harsh in this episode.

Christopher simeon

His actions are not relevant especially because his actions does not make buffy have to kill angel. Angelus actions does that. All his actions do is make her surprised to see Angel again but everything else would be pretty much the same. But here is the question. If buffy could not even stop angelus from opening the portal as angelus then how would knowing help her do that. It actually more likely would cause her to stall and die first. especially because the spell was not a guarantee. Xavier choice is actually less risky to buffy.

Christopher simeon

Yea nobody but giles really handled things properly.

Jon Dub

Same with me when it comes to Xander. It does make me roll my eyes when I see some of the unnecessary hate he gets. Yes, he can be a complete douchebag at times, especially in the first 2 seasons, but he is a teenage boy. What teenage boy isnt a complete idiot?

BatmanFanGirl

The scene with Giles overwhelmed with relief is one of my favorite moments of the show. I admit though Giles is my favorite character of the show. LOL

Robert McKenna

Wow, you really can’t take criticism even a little bit can you?
