Hello All!

Spike you snake! You sexy schmexy snake you! How dare he do this to our scoobies. Honestly though, I can't believe the group genuinely fell into his trap. I guess the issues were way too real to begin with. Riley at the end of this ep had me SHOOKETH...you will witness a breakdown from me but worry not, I've seen the next episode hahaha.

Look forward to reading your comments as always, have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

My favorite thing about this episode is that look that Riley gets from ANGEL When Buffy tells him to come outside to talk. I just love it. Angel can be so childish. I love him.

Dave Ford

It's weird - about half of the reactions have the same take-away from the final scene of this episode as you did - I didn't For me, it was obvious - Adam just killed his best friend, so Riley stormed off from Buffy to get some vengeance - he's there to kick Adam's butt.

Dave Ford

Otherwise this is a great episode. Two little boys having dick waving contest. Spike really enjoying himself stirring the pot again, this time for fun and profit, and the great big fight at the end with drunk Giles. "Ah, no sir, Alfred had a job, remember!". Plus singing Giles being hot as hell right up to when he isn't. You so right about Adam though - it's hard to be threatened by him when he just looks and acts like a pound-shop Terminator.

Before you do anything else you have to see - and react to - Aftershow Reactions' tribute video to Forrest. You can see it on Liam Catterson's channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y50uW3jYv8 Angel is VERY funny when he's being petty and smug! You're spot on about Adam. Fortunately, there's lot's of character development and the trademark humour.

oh my goodness, that was an exhausting episode. Who would have thought an episode that starts with Willow and Tara playing with Miss Kitty Fantastico would end up having so much drama later?! Oh that Spike is a sneaky bastard. I liked that he was such a rat but then we also got a peek at Amy, the actual rat, in Buffy/Willow's room. It was a nice reminder that all this craziness that Spike is stirring up isn't out of nowhere. These four have real history together. They have been though so much together in these four years and all these insecurities that have been simmering away for a while were just waiting to burst out. Spike was surprised how easy it was to turn them against each other; but he was pretty much just waving a match toward a gas leak. I laughed out loud at Xander's delayed reaction to Willow referring to Tara as her girlfriend, followed by Drunk Giles' "bloody hell". Honestly, I would happily watch an entire episode of Giles drinking Scotch and having a sing-along. Sorry about the camera issues today but great job editing around it. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned. Thanks for sharing. xo

Ohh, I love this episode, and can't wait to see your reaction to it, Dak! I skipped ahead to the end as I sometimes do, because I didn't have time to watch the whole thing but I couldn't wait to listen to your thoughts. Thank you so much for mentioning me and reading my comment from New Moon Rising. *blushy face* I'm so happy that you offered your friend a positive coming out experience. I know there were plenty of people like you, even when this season aired, who reacted positively when people came out, but many did not. I feel like maybe they had Buffy react the way she did because they thought it would be more believable, because so many people still reacted that way. If they had had Buffy react more like you, they might have had too many people rolling their eyes. It's kind of like those situations where writers sometimes have to have characters react in less than perfect ways because having them react in a way we'd like better seems more unerealistic, even though it isn't. Hope that makes sense. I do have to say, I love the way Oz handled it. I mean, he got jealous and wolfed out, which was scary, but he was reacting to the idea of Willow being with someone else. The fact that it's two women together didn't factor into it at all. Going to catch up on the Angel episodes first, then watch this one. *rubs hands together*

Agreed with the Aftershow video. It's a must watch at this point.

As we've seen before, Spike is brilliantly insightful when it comes to people's emotional states and insecurities, and fantastic at using that talent for evil... Also, I'm 100% in agreement with Dave Ford regarding my own take on the end of the episode - Riley is there for one thing, vengeance.

Raven Dark

Haha, your reaction at the end was priceless, Dak. "There's no other explanation for this..." Um, weeeell... LOL

Propitious for us as it suggests we'll get to watch many moments of surprise! 😀

The tension in this episode is real. Spike stirs up the pot perfectly. He's saying just enough, but hten goes back to his normal spike-like behaviour to deflect suspicion. Then when buffy is actually back with her friends she's wildly confused by whats happening, and that while she's already had an emotional upheaval. WIth the angel and riley stuff and then Forest kickin the bucket aswell. Buffy scolded them properly at the end though, their shocked faces said enough. I have to say I do love the drunk Giles, he gets so juvenile xD. Also more of Giles' singing please. As per your comments at the end, This show did handle the Willow/Tara situation and everything that entails very well. In fact its one of the things the show got crittical aclaim for eventually. An interasting fact, The reason you haven't seen WIllow and Tara kiss, was because the TV channel that was running buffy was afraid of backlash and didnt want to put anything like that on screen. Thats why theres all the inuendo's but you never see anything. They (Alyson Hannigan and Amber benson I believe) did say that they ran with that and turned it into their favour, because they could make it about their relation ship and not about the sexual side of being gay, and make the more obvious moments on screen mean something more,

Gabe Morales

“No! It was bad before that, when you two went off to college and forgot about me! Just left me in the basement to-Tara’s your GIRLFRIEND??” “Bloody HELL!” No matter how many times I see that it kills me every single stinking time 😂

I found fascinating Dakara's reaction to Riley's comment: “I'm so in love with you I can't think straight”. The thing that I found fascinating is how different viewers can have totally different reactions to the exact same sentence, and I think that this is mainly due to each unique personal experience. For example, to me, such comment sounds like a big red flag, an alarm bell that your partner's feeling could turn in an unhealthy obsession, at least a little. Like extra jealousy, over controlling or a constant insecurity. I'm not saying that one point of view is right or wrong, just that I find interesting how our personal experience can bring us to completely different interpretation of the exactly the same statement. I guess that this doesn't work any more in the case of more structured scenes but, for single comments or statements, this is unavoidable and you should keep it in mind in case you ever want to become a writer.

Drunk Giles is the best haha
