It has officially begun guys! Cobra Kai journey on route! Jonny is such an interesting character. On one hand he gives off such aggro bachelor vibes but then on the other hand he shares little subtle emotional moments. He's clearly had a rough life thus far & I wanna see how many feelings change from the movies to the tv series.

Here we go. I love the huge chunks of 80s cheese and nostalgia thrown into this show. They really hit a good balance between references to the original movies, whilst driving forward the new story lines.

That was great 🙂 you're absolutely correct dak this show blends old and new perfectly 👌 Johnny has no filter whatsoever he's like a male cordi lol and he's hilarious 😂 that scene with young Sam and Daniel sure was cute and I loved it . Happy youre enjoying it so far dak I mean you already know I love this show so I'm a happy fellow 🙂 excited for the next episode now

This is one of my favorite shows. Johnny is such an interesting character and very nuanced considering in the 80’s he was the biggest dickhead to be around. He’s the definition of “peaked in high school.” His heart is actually in the right place, especially when it comes to Miguel, but as you have seen and will see, his approach could definitely use some improvement 😂. He’s got a very old school way of handling problems but doesn’t quite go full blown toxic masculinity. It gets pretty close at times no doubt 😆. I really like that they show both Johnny and Daniel as not being all good or all bad. Both of them are flawed humans who probably have more in common than they want to admit. The balance of great storytelling and cheese is what makes it enjoyable. It could’ve just been a cheesy nostalgia fest but they made it into a great show. Look forward to more of your reactions!

I'm so glad you're reacting to this, Dak! Love this show, and I agree with what you said in your reaction to the pilot--the binge-watch-ability of this show is through the roof. The cheesiness works, partly because it's very deliberate and balanced with depth and real emotion. You mentioned in your pilot reaction that you wanted to watch the episodes faster. If I may make a suggestion. Because a lot of the episodes are shorter, you could do two reactions at once. Many reactors do, often putting two episodes up back to back. If you do decide to go that route, check the ep lengths, as some are longer. Also the seasons are only ten eps long, so you'll be done seasons faster than you would be with something like Buffy or Grimm. Great first two reactions to this show! Off to watch more.
