Shame we’ve got two Angel episodes in between now and the last two Buffy. Can’t wait for you to see how season wraps up.

I'm sure someone has already said, but you should watch the "previously on" for episode 5x22 since it's also episode 100 of the series.

God (or should i say Glory xD) I love this season. The pacing of this season is really good imo. I like that the finaly kind of starts during the previous episode and then just cascades and crescendo's. The knights always felt somewhat random to me. You would think they would update their methods to modern weaponry would you?. Fun nonetheless though. This episode really does feel like it flies by. Buffy really can't catch a break here and in the end it does seem like she actually broke. There's something curious going on though with all the crazies saying the same stuff. Spike showing up in the van with those glasses certainly is a look though, and i love it xD. Though chaotic i think the episode is well written, and it does capture the chaotic feeling from being on the run. The end of this season really does draw you in. Have a good one and till the next :)

Maybe the knights are actually from a thousand years ago and have only awakened now because the key has been reactivated? Also I wonder if Ben has been alive for centuries, and if Glory's re-emergence is linked to Dawn's.

I am a leaf on the wind, watch how ....

Love your reactions to Buffy. I forgot how good season 5 of Buffy was. But watching your reactions is reminding me of watching the show when I got it on VHS (yes I am so old. Lol. ) but watching your reactions is making me falling in love with the show again. Like I am watching it for the first time again because you react like I did when watching the show. Xx

wait... theres a link between ben and glory? :). but yes its possible about the knights. but i fight it unlikely as they mention searching for the key for a long time and know about the monks etc. it does sound like ben has been alive for centuries. thats also backed up by the queller demon, which has apeared throughout the ages and ben mentioning summoning it.

Those of us watching during the broadcast season knew that the show was cancelled. This was, at the time, thought to be the series finale. It got picked up on a different network and continued on but in context.

Gabe Morales

As we've learned from other shows, black eyes are never a good thing lol

Neil Silverman

Oh man, Buffy season 5... seriously one of the best seasons of television ever...

Phoenix Dawn

If only Ben just took himself out lololol

"She does have nice feet." Did Dan Schneider write this one? Spike driving the RV with the windows covered was an obvious nod to the vampire classic "Near Dark" (1987). If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. The highlight of the episode, at least for me, was the road fight, which was very "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" meets "The Mandalorian", and the transition to the base under siege scenario. BUS games and films are my favorite. What a great episode, and I have to say that these multi-episode storylines with such fantastic cliffhangers are so, so good, no matter how frustrating they can feel. Very enjoyable reaction as usual.

A great episode where we can feel the stress and anxiety Buffy is feeling, while also being able to give us the signature moments of levity (Anya beating up a knight with a frying pan, "Daddy's putting the hammer down", etc). This episode to me highlights an interesting dynamic of the group. Over the last 5 years the group has come to recognize Buffy as the leader. They all offer suggestions, but ultimately key decisions for dealing with the supernatural threats are now firmly down to Buffy. The group expects Buffy to make these decisions, and I think more importantly we see clearly in this episode that Buffy expects this of herself. This was played for comedy in Intervention when the group asked the Buffybot how to find Glory and she had no answer. But in this episode we see the push and pull of this dynamic. When Buffy decides to run, and bring Spike along, the group aren't sure this is the best move but still accept Buffy's decision. However when things just keep getting worse and look hopeless, and no one has any ideas, they turn to Buffy for the answer. Everyone, including Buffy, expects her to always have a plan. I'm not really saying anyone is at fault or should be acting differently, but the poor girl is feeling the pressure, and as you point out Dakara she's exhausted.

The Mad Titan

Ive read that this season was originally supposed to be the final season. Similar to supernatural endong in season 5. Definable my favorite season. Ah man, after the show ended and you were talking about the direction of the show, and you said it was just going along and then took a sharp turn, I started laughing so hard, and then said the show went off the cliff and I couldn't even talk, just laughing. Great episode, and loved watching it with you.

Stargazer1682

No, that's not even a little bit true. It had been known for ages that UPN picked up the show for season 6. The WB hadn't even cancelled it; it and Angel after all were still among their highest rated shows. But it's deal with the WB was up and UPN made a better offer. The WB was subsequently very petty about it, running ads calling it the "the series finale," but most people knew that wasn't the case. I remember watching those promos live at the time thinking, those jerks; because they had to know full well there would be a small segment of the audience who hadn't heard about the pick-up and would actually legitimately think the show was ending.

Stargazer1682

Maybe back in season 1 or 2 when Joss first started eying some of the stuff he planned to do in this season, but by season 5 he was no longer looking at ending the season with season 5. It's not even true that the WB cancelled the series, but rather simply lost out in a bidding war with UPN.

Stargazer1682

I actually love this news. I hate how the Slay Alive watch order lumps so many of these episodes together

The Mad Titan

You're probably right, I knew I read it somewhere, and it was probably sn interview with Joss saying exactly what you said, in the rarl years he was thinking about ending st season 6. But as time went by and the show got bigger that idea was long out the window. I may be wrong but was Buffy and Angel on different channels for a few years because of that bidding war uou were talking about?

Koz

For the final two seasons of Buffy, it was on UPN, while Angel remained on the WB.

JoDaNa81

Interesting fact - The actor playing the professor at the beginning(Leland Crooke), also plays a recurring character in Season 5 of Angel.

Todd Bolton

Approximate quote: They wouldn’t bring Dawn in and get us to love her and then take her away, would they? Nope. They will be more underhanded than that. It was the get us to love her part that I loved.

Todd Bolton

Actually you're referring to the previous episode - but fascinating. I didn't know that. Archduke Sebassis! One of my favorite creepy demons.
