Hello All!

A Greatest Showman type episode in Grimm?! Enjoyed this one, was interesting but sad finding out what happens to Wessen if they're forced to Woge regularly. Was nice to see Rosalee being so understanding and supportive - I think as she was an addict herself and overcome it, she is more understanding and in the know of what helps and what they need.

Hope you enjoy the reaction folks. Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!

Much love

Dakara x

I can't wait for your reactions for the remainder of season 3 and beginning of 4. The twists....

Such a fun episode! It was cool seeing Sam Witwer (Max) again. Last time I saw him was several years ago on Supergirl where he played Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty. Dan Considine (Sid) as well; he has a very unique look, so you recognize him immediately. He showed up in Obi-Wan Kenobi last year I believe. I really appreciated the Wesen carnival attraction theme. It harkens back to the classic carnival freak shows (aka sideshows) that featured people with various conditions, typically physical. They go back to the 17th century. The difference here is that the Wesen were being forced to perform, while in real life the performers were paid and were happy to be able to work and support their families. Lastly, while I didn't smile as big as you did Dak, I smiled a LOT. We do love our Monroe/Rosalee episodes. 🙂 Thank you Dak!

I wonder if they took some inspiration from Tod Browning's Freaks movie from 1932. That has a plot line of a group of a carnival freaks eventually taking revenge when they realise on of their own is being manipulated and exploited by one of the carnival managers.

Hedwig is a Lowen, the lion wessen that first appeared in season 1 'Last Grimm Standing'.

Brian Dworak

Interesting take on it, and I believe you might be correct. My favorite film era is the pre-code years, so before July 1, 1934. Most people have no idea that back then there were very racy scenes and scandalous storylines. Their jaws would drop seeing middle fingers and even occasional partial nudity. The best example (IMO) is Baby Face (1933) starring Barbara Stanwyck.

Claire Eyles

Yes, absolutely. Have you seen the Man Who Laughs, starring the wonderful Conrad Veidt? There's several scenes in that film that I think some modern audiences might be surprised by.

Brian Dworak

Yes, of course! Gwynplaine, the inspiration for The Joker in the Batman universe. Such a great film.
