We as the audience know that Max can get jealous and make reckless choices(ex: the fake online affair). But I don't think Toro's injury counts since he intentionally provoked him to get a reaction out of him.

Given that all Max's jealous outbursts have been the result of a stalking ex that wont take no for an answer, i say he is kind of justified in his actions. Plus Lobbo has been obvious he never moved on fully.
