iOS Payments are BS! *taps the sign* (Patreon)

Given that Apple is making creators on legacy payment methods switch to comply with their app, I'm making a post to remind you the iOS/Apple Patreon app payments are bullshit.

  • not only do you pay more for everything--my lowest tier, Desirable, is priced at $6.90 but will cost you $10 just for paying through Apple...

  • ...but Apple puts the money I get from their app on hold for almost 3 months. So, if you pledge to the Desirable tier through iOS: you pay $10, Apple gets $3.10 of that, & the $6.90 doesn't get to me for months.

    It's a lose-lose for you as a consumer & me a creator. So if at all possible, pay through Patreon on the browser instead folks.

    I'll be resending this post out in your inboxes periodically as long as this issue continues to exist.

I know I’m a bit late but are the rates better on subscribe star? And do you post differently there? Just wondering if it’s worth potentially swapping platforms

Oh for sure! That's a good question too, hah! Patreon takes 8% in fees after any Apple BS. SubscribeStar is 5% so yeah, a bit lower which means I make a lil more there than here. <3
