Hey hey hey! It's PORTS. Ok, I gotta come clean. The dirty secret about this video is that its script originally featured SEVEN game sections vs the 4-5 that actually made it into the video. I HATED CUTTING THEM. But there ended up being enough to talk about with this slot of games that I had to push them aside for another video (since the Past Mortem had already ballooned to massive proportions). When we first started this N-Gage journey, I told Derek we only had enough material to do one N-Gage video, maybe two. Famous last words. I have a feeling that those cut N-Gage games are going to make it into their own Punching Weight, and that there may be another video after that.

This Punching Weight was unusual since the writing and gameplay were done primarily by me (Grace) since Derek spent all month editing the Past Mortem. Usually I make Derek capture gameplay because tbh I am....... not the greatest at games. I love playing them but they do not like being played by me. So if any gameplay looks looks extra funky this time around, it's my fault, blame Grace. Except for the Tony Hawk section, you can blame all of that on Derek.

The behind the scenes scoop on this video is that we were originally going to feature Pathway To Glory as our secret N-Gage original in a video that's supposed be all about ports. But I played Ashen at the recommendation of our writing/research partner Cass and I fell in love. After the mind numbing beige-ness of Red Faction, the euphoric ambition of Ashen nearly brought me to tears. Happy tears. And so in it went. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.

If you're sick on the N-Gage, don't worry! The next Punching Weight is going to be on the Pokemon Mini. We're also going to have a small bonus video featuring the new EDF game since we gotta stay vigilant against the insectoid menace.

Let us know if you liked this!

Hot dang, now this is some content that I can really... N-Gage with. :D

GondoTheDragon

Maybe you could make a Part 2 with the cut games? You get to talk about them, and we get more NGage content. :D

Patrick Ripoll

I always wait for it to hit YouTube but I am very excited about the massive NGage drop!

Michael Cutts

Seeing the Elder Scrolls game reminded me why it’s hard to go back to Morowind with its RPG dice-roll combat. Excellent video!

Maxwell Heath

I would love to see a discussion of the Rifts Promise of Power game. Rifts is a RPG that could make a great video game and I’ve always been surprised how they chose to put it on NGage of all things.

Jason Hurley

+1 internet point for using the word "boondoggle."

Chevmatic

Great video as always uncle Derek and producer Grace! And I would like to cast my vote that I would absolutely like to see the two of you tackle some co-op Shadowkey. Maybe make that your next Patreon stretch goal and do a live stream of it? Ohhhh it would be beautiful!!!

Great Joe

Dang, you two really went whole hog on the n-gage. Well, you got this thing going, keep at it.

Daphomet

This is now an N-Gage channel and I'm all for it

MrFortyFive

I just want you to know that I want all the N-Gage and will watch all of it. Please and thank you.

Love love LOVE these NGage videos! Always wanted one growing up, haha. Stolked for thr pokemon mini videos! If you need any footage from either stadium game or something, let me know! I’m doing a very deep playthrough of those generations of games right now!

Nicholas Arthur La Barre

“Do you want to hear us talk about ports of GBA games to.....” no matter what the end of that sentence is, the answer is of course a resounding “YES, damnit!”

Gregory Carlson

The N-Gage was such a unique concept. It’s to bad, it didn’t gain more traction. Ahead of its time.

Hey there Grace and Derek! I've been watching your videos like crazy over the last few days and just had to become a supporter! Keep doing the amazing things you are and stay awesome!!
