This was neat to watch you progressively experience why Atari nearly permanently destroyed the video game industry. The quality control just wasn’t there and I would bet that people weren’t really playing most of these games, if they even managed to get bought. I’m a bit older than you (but also not ancient enough for these to be new when I was young), but my first game system was a 2600 because my mom was against video games and my dad bought one as a gateway console for basically no money with a ton of games when I was like five. I beat Adventure probably dozens of times, which I think is a little understandable. I had Haunted House too, but I don’t think I ever understood what I was supposed to do. The hottest garbage that I remember wasting lots of time on was Bowling (the dots disappearing was satisfying and I apparently didn’t have something better like Breakout or similar) and Circus. I must have liked the guy breaking his neck. Not featured in this collection, the only other games I remember spending time on was ET, Pac Man, and Raiders of the Lost Ark, but like I imagine people in the early 80s must have done, all these games were like something you’d pick up for five minutes once or twice a week, like those ball in a cup games or something, which I think is the better comp than something truly involving like… checkers. Thanks for letting me spew that all out years after you made this video (not that I gave you a choice). I watched the ranking video a week ago but I didn’t really remember in depth about my experiences until I watched this one.

The one great thing Atari did was crash and burn, failing miserably so that Nintendo could rise from its ashes.
