There's a new post on Keith-Baker.com dealing with the role of the Bodak in Eberron! I've enjoyed the articles I've written on hags, sphinxes, cyclopes, perytons, and lamias in the past, and now that I have a little more time I'm going to try to make this a monthly thing. Bodaks came from a question on the August Question Thread, but for the next one I'll do a poll so you can all help decide. Post creatures you'd like to see covered in the comments to help me decide what to put on the poll!

In addition to the new post, the pre-order for Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone is now live on the DM's Guild! If you get the preorder you can get the Roll20 conversion of the adventure "Heart of Stone" (from Frontiers) for free. If you plan to buy the Print on Demand book in the future, you’ll be credited for already having the PDF if you get the PDF + Print bundle, so the only reason not to preorder is if you ONLY want the print version.

As always, thanks for your support! I'm on my way back from DragonCon and I'll be setting the time for the next Graywall adventure in the next few days!

For the monster polls perhaps the Lluora Quori?

Jarrod Taylor

Gonna toss in Ettins for the poll. I always want to know more about Khorvaire giants.

Hoping to have my questions about quaggoths resolved.

In terms of monsters… Starspawn? I’d be interested in seeing how Starspawn play a role in Eberron what with it so separated from the greater multiverse? Perhaps did a meteor from a far off multiverse slip through the cracks and land in a remote Aundarian village, mutating a drifter into a mad preacher (Star Spawn Seer) and him influencing his congregation to join him and this new “deity,” warping them into monsters and crazed cultists? Or perhaps Draconians from Dragonlance? Are they results of cultists from the Daughter of Khyber? Shock troops hell bent on her revival but “weak” enough to slip by the Chamber? And what about Abashis, while we’re at it? Two other monsters that are probably low hanging fruits… Ogres of Khorvaire (and their big, mechanically hill giant cousins, and how the special variants like the howdah May work) and Boneclaws. IMO/IME, Boneclaws likely play a similar role to your Bodaks, but with a twist. I introduced one relatively early in a campaign as the “enforcer” to a low level thug (since they gravitate toward evil), while later in the campaign they served as elite guards for Lasy Illmarrow, except the latter Boneclaws were Multiverae variants (higher hp, and added necrotic damage) to highlight the difference between a wannabe lich damning himself and Lady Illmarrow’ Shane crafted shock troops

I hated every second I've spent on Roll20 but I will cheerfully buy the Fantasy Grounds version when it comes out, as well as the POD.

(trying to think of something as cool as my question about Nilbogs that you added to an article) TLDR: Alhoons, Nothics, Elder Brain Dragons, Nagpas Im not too sure if you've had a take on Alhoons? Not necessarily Illithiliches, but specifically the idea of Alhoons being a "pseudo-lich" that sort of consumes memories/age instead of souls to live long. Ive also just recently had a really great session with a Nothic, which, I think very obviously could be tied to Belashyrra, but I always see its a creature you never really name when talking about Belashyrra. Also curious if you think an Elder Brain Dragon would be something special, considering the role Dragons play in Eberron. I liked your take on the Raven Queen for Eberron, but I dont recall if you mentioned Nagpas in your description.

I would love to see some detail on Barghests! I'm curious about their relationship to the different dar (city goblins vs Darguul vs Heirs). Personally I've employed them as a type of Mabar native that imprinted upon the dar as their preferred prey due to Dhakaani Empire misexplorations into the planes, but I've never had any dar PCs to really delve into it with.

My initial thought was, "Today's? Meh" but in reading the articles, the possibilities for undead instruments of a powerful necromancer are tantalizing. I'm gonna steal some of these ideas for even my non-Eberron games!

Would love to hear your Eberron take on the Kirin. It’s simple enough to say “flying celestial, belongs in Syrania” but what sets them apart from angels or pegasus, and what are some interesting implications of their regional and lair effects?

Also throwing on Berbalangs and Balhannoths!
