Q&A Tomorrow and Legacy of Worlds! (Patreon)
Content
Hi Everyone!
First of all, this is a reminder that I will be holding a live Q&A on the Threshold Stage on the Discord at 10 AM Pacific this Saturday, April 26th! The session will be recorded, and posted in about a week. But if you want to get your questions in live, this is your opportunity!
In addition, I wanted to share the link to the latest episode of Legacy of Worlds. If you've never checked it out, Season 2 is a good place to start. Season 1 was fun, but we were all new to liveplay—we frequently talked over one another, and the story has a lot of big fights which, while interesting for us as players, aren't necessarily the most interesting thing to watch or listen to. With Season 2 we all have more experience and the story is more, well, about the STORY. I've enjoyed rewatching these first two episodes, and if you like liveplay I hope you'll give it a try.
The basic premise of Legacy of Worlds is similar to Eve of Ruin (though we did it first!). There is a threat to the Multiverse. All the worlds of D&D are being drained of magic, and champions from those worlds have joined forces in Sigil to try to save our worlds. In Season 1 we were working on recovering the cards of a Deck of Many Things charged with the magic of our worlds, so it was a lot of planehopping—a new world ever two episodes! At the end of Season One (spoiler alert) we learned that the force behind the attack was an old enemy who had claimed Vecna's relics, and to have a chance of stopping him we needed the Sword of Kas... which was in Ravenloft. This season begins with use traveling to Ravenloft, and we're in Ravenloft for the duration; we don't actually know if we can leave. Because it's Ravenloft, there's more focus on story than on battle; while there are still some epic fights, part of the point is that Ravenloft doesn't CARE if you're an epic level character. It can turn your power against you, or if you're not careful, claim you as a Darklord. So we're all dealing with tensions and with moments from our past. I'm playing Merrix d'Cannith—though this is an alternate Eberron Merrix from 1019 YK in an Eberron where planar travel is possible—and while no one knows all the details, I've been to Ravenloft before.
So like I said, even if you don't feel like watching Season One, you can jump in with Season Two! All you need to know is that we're a band of heroes assembled from Eberron, Toril, Ravenloft, Oerth, and Imaria, and that we've entered Ravenloft to find the Sword of Kas!
Thanks for your support, and I hope to see you at the Q&A!
