My next Deep Dive Q&A is Saturday, January 10th at 10 AM Pacific Time. It will be held on the Threshold Stage channel of the Eberron Discord. And after a VERY close race, the topic is ESPIONAGE CAMPAIGNS! The focus will be on live questions, and I'll post the recording of the session later this month—but feel free to ask questions here and I'll cover them if I can!

How does the Trust relate to Zil citizens living outside of Zilargo? If there were a Zil dissident who fled to Breland, and urged citizens of Zilargo to reject the Trust, what would happen to that gnome, and would it cause an international incident?

What are some commonly held conspiracy theories in Eberron? Many time espionage weaves in and around conspiracy theories. Also, Hi Keith!

How does espionage as we traditionally know it work in a setting with Diviners, Fortune Tellers and Prophets/Soothesayers?

Riedra presents itself publicly as a peaceful, humanitarian nation, while much of its intelligence and influence work is carried out through forces tied to the Dreaming Dark. In an espionage-focused campaign where the players are aware of the Dreaming Dark but their characters are not, how would you recommend handling this tension at the table? How overt or subtle should these operations feel when the characters are still officially loyal agents of Riedra, and how can a DM keep that dramatic irony engaging without pushing the characters too quickly toward open rebellion?

How do Phiarlann and Thuranni members interact, in general? Are they suspicious by default? Let's say you have a player of one House and the game is in territory of the other, like a Phiarlann player in a Principalities campaign, is that like being on enemy territory?

Do the shadow-marked houses use the tactics of sleeper agents for infiltration purposes, given that, as elves, they have plenty of time for long-term missions?

Jarrod Taylor

When disguised dragons and rakshasa encounter each other in the same organization or plot, do they try to out each other or is it more of a long cold war of trying to ruin each other's plans and pawns?

You've written a lot from the perspective of the Dark Lanterns of Breland. Are there other intelligence groups that you wish had gotten more coverage or would expand upon in new ways?

Could espionage campaigns deal with high-level PCs?

What sort of espionage resources does Prince Oargev have? Is he investigating places besides the Mournland or would he be more focused on counter surveillance? More broadly, how would agents on opposite sides interact with each other outside of violence?
