Greetings, Inner Circle!

At the moment I am hard-pressed on writing deadlines for Frontiers of Eberron and other work and as a result I'm not going to do an extended article this month. Addressing a deep topic such as Sarlona would require both time and creative focus that I don't have this week. So instead, I'm looking to write a few shorter articles this month—articles more on par with the recent Wizard Circles, Airships, or Mummies and the BoV articles. Examples of this sort of topic would be Familiars & Homunculi in Eberron, The Lightning Rail, or Sphinxes in Eberron. So I'm going to do a poll and try to cover at least the top two topics... But as always, I want to know what you want to know about.

So with the understand that we're talking about topics that could be covered in 1-2 pages—what would you like to see?

Thanks for your support!

-Keith

I've always thought that the Lightning Rail has yards, spur lines, and other details the the world book didn't take space to cover. I tend to crib from model railroad sources for these details. Are there obvious differences?

Spike Hemphill

Expanded Quori. If that too big then just Uspvana and/or Tsoreva. Honestly the one I am most interested hearing your thoughts is Uspvana..

Matthew Booth

Common pets of the Five Nations we would find exotic. Or, "What are Galifarans scratching behind the ears on a cold night?"

Smitelord

I'm relatively new on the Patreon so I don't know if these have been covered before but I would like to know how Warforged fit in the different kingdoms, and I think it be neat to explore the possibility of a warforged made city in the Mournlands!

John Stookey

Rural life in the Five Nations?

Teettan

Where do you see dunamancy fitting in eberron? Is it a new, developing field of magic, possibly tied to Xoriat when drawing on other realities. Or is it an ancient magic developed by giants or dragons that has been rediscovered by the five nations leading to a new arms race to unlock its secrets.

Thomas Fletcher

I'd love something about how specifically Karrnath and Thrane's laws differ from the Code of Galifar, or more generally about how law enforcement in different Thronehold nations.

Susan Threadgill

Would love to know more about culture/entertainment for the different classes of Eberron. How do the rich keep themselves entertained? What kind of expectations are had in social circles for someone who might reside in Upper Central Plateau vs the Cogs or in a small village vs a city like Passage?

DivertedCircle

What is the nature of the relationship between the Godforged and the Lord of Blades? Is the Lord of Blades just exploiting the Godforged to gain followers? Are there Godforged who believe the Lord of Blades is a messiah? Would the Godforged work with the Lord of Blades to reactivate a colossus, maybe viewing it as their god?

House Sivis Echoer Station

how about something light and silly? like. ooh, types of social dances through Khorvaire? Who quadrangles, and who waltzes, who clog dances, and who river dances? or. something food related? We have some dishes of food in some of the novels and Five Nations. I realize neither of these things are things you are probably versed in, but they feel like short small topics to me.

Reighndragon

I would love some extra ideas how to incorporate pollution in combination with the arcane industries article. When I look at London in the mid 19th century their is a lot of soot, steam and water pollution. What kind of pollution would you expect from a Cannith industrial complex? For example a facility for producing lightning rail components in Passage.

Joseph Meehan

The Dreamspace! I want to reiterate support for sphinxes Industrial Eldritch Machines - Storm Spires, Creation Forges, Orien Teleportation and the like Labor groups - something akin to the Wizarding Circles article Worldbending Magic items, eg Headband of Intellect only being Uncommon Textiles and Mining?

C.K.

Monster Manual 3 from D&D 3.5 has you credited and honestly felt like an Eberron Monstrous Compendium. Do you use those monsters? Any favourites from it?

Earth Seraph Edna

I would very much like to see that "Manipulation and Intrigue" article that did not quite win the previous poll.

Jeff H

Since I'm running a campaign where the players are all students/faculty at Morgrave... perhaps something on campus life? Frat houses, secret societies, noteworthy shops/taverns/hangouts, lecture topics, evil schemes at the bursar's office, typical weekend events at the Commons, dorm intrigue, etc.

Asmuz

A topic about ships and magic would be my favorite, I feel that this was the thing that I miss more in the Arcane series. The gnome monk order from Zilargo that someone ask times ago in IFAQ would be cool too if you think that deserves more than a IFAQ. And something that would be part of a “Karrnath:Beyond Blood of Vol”, but could fit in the size of the article, but I don’t know if is there something that would make sense. Maybe Karrnathi hafflings or Rekkenmark Academy

Ben Ferguson

More on Khyber - beneath Sharn would be ideal and other underdark locations - spelunking in Eberron to go with the AAW 'Survivalist's Guide to Spelunking' book coming out later this year (with Douglas Niles)

Paul Blank

Perhaps an article on the Lords of Dust and their perceptions towards the machinations of the Draconic Prophecy as it may pertain to their masters. Or even rivalries within the Lords of Dust, whether spurred on by conflicting paradigms between Overlords or more interpersonal turmoil.

Ben Ferguson

How to make/ help the new Candlekeep Mysteries (WoC) work/ fit into the Eberron Universe?

Asmuz

If fits, wide elemental about Lorghalen would be cool too.

Andres Olan-Vazquez

My favorite part of the Morgrave Miscellany is the little lists in the back with faculty, courses and books. As someone who works in a university, I enjoy making up my own faculty members and academic publications, but I was wondering if you worked in that part of MM and if you had ideas of different departments, courses or faculty for Arcanix as well? I loved the mention of Provost Iria ir'Rayne in your Arcane Magic series!

Dominic

Beasts of burden and cavalry charges.

Matt Brady

Oh boy, I've been saving a list of questions for the next lightning round, let me comb through them to see if any are "miniskirt" length, long enough but also short enough on answer. Belligerents in the Last War: we see a lot of talk about conflict between Karrnath and Aundair, Karrnath and Cyre, Cyre and Breland, Thrane and everyone. And Forge of War (non-Keith book) notes a non-aggression pact between Aundair and Cyre and an inital deteriorating alliance between Thrane, Karrnath and Breland. Did nations who don't share a land border have significant conflict during the Last War? Breland and Karrnath, Aundair and Cyre. Was the Last War a free for all or is this something Forge of War might have got right? Blood of Vol and Dwarves: you mentioned in one of the articles on the Blood of Vol that early faithful included the dwarves (logical as they're right next to Lhazaar and on the way to Karrnath). Besides Clan Narathun (noted in Exploring Eberron), are there any dwarves who still practice the faith? Does the Narathun version of the Seekers differ from the Karrn Seekers much the same way as the Lhazaar Seekers do? The Talenta are in the way of the Seeker expansion too, would they have any significant followings of the Blood of Vol in the places where Karrns and halflings mix? Rest of my questions are "answer in a single line or quick paragraph" ones sadly

Thomas Brøgger

How would you use the magic tattoos from Tasha’s in Eberron?

Brian Blagg

More information on the fauna of Khorvaire. There are wolves in the Karrnwood, bears in the kings forest, dinosaurs in the planes, hyenas in Droaam, but what about other species. The original campaign setting had a compendium that was quite short

Eric Christian Berg

Since you are doing a lot of work on frontier towns of late, I'd love to get a page or two on Zantashk.

Franz Janson

I don't know if it's a short enough topic and if you read it, but as I just read throug the exzellent "Magical Industrial Revolution" by Skerples and find it very inspiring for Eberron: How would you work the 8 major innovations and their respective path to apocalypse into an Eberron Campaign?

Clio M

I don't think I'd have any burning questions for this round because Familiars/Homunculi and Sphinxes sound like amazing options to me! (I will, however, call attention to another patron's suggestion and say that I'm also interested in hearing your thoughts about magic tattoos, like we see in TCoE)

Elmer Tucker

I'd love some rough sketches of regional cuisine. My players just made it to Gatherhold, and we spent a distressing amount of time determining if they had access to cheese in their cooking. Alternatively, a discussion of how the existence of the Dragonmarked Houses (Ghallanda and Vadalis) - or broad magic in general - change how everyone eats.

Chris H. | End Days Engine

Short articles on other mythological beast in Eberron like Unicorns or Hydras would be cool! Ditto with Displacer Beasts.

Caelan Scott

Maybe just a rundown of Avassh: The Twister of Roots, its minions and what kind of cults can arise from it.

Melkor78

Though this was in a long article poll some time ago, but didn't get the votes: the Fey of Aundair and maybe their proteges, if that doesn't make it too long.

Patrick Nielsen

I'd love to know more about the Group of Eleven and what their culture was like, compared to other ancient Giant cultures. For instance, were they intended to be a parallel to the ancient Greek city-states in our world, compared to the "Rome" of the Cul'sir Empire? Or something entirely different?

Farouche

Here again for the Fey of Aundair!

Marandahir

I’d love to learn a bit more about Shadar-Kai in Eberron - culture and actions beyond simply just being agents of the Raven Queen. Your 6/23/18 article dealt with her quite well, but Shadar-Kai felt like a side note, a means to the end of exploring her? Frankly, MToF did the same, as opposed to the wealth of 4e and 3e information we had on them...

Jeff Lyttle

I like the Lightning Rail. Any why aren't there more lines? If you look at the late 1800's there were rail lines in the US and Europe to almost every town. They would even setup temporary rail lines for special events (for example, they created a temporary rail line that ran through the middle of Williamsburg, VA for the Yorktown Centennial in 1881. The rail line ran for about 6 months and then they tore the whole thing down). Could House Orien setup a temporary line for special events? Could there be smaller lines out to smaller towns?

Kanga

A frequently asked question recently on the discord server is: What is the relationship between illithids and arcane magic in Eberron? Is there a similar restriction against the practice, or do many illithids practice arcane magic?

Zed Bundershot

In your Eberron, how widespread/legal is the 2nd level Suggesttion spell, for purposes of advertising, propaganda, etc.?

Nick

Seren Island and/or the dragon-worshipping barbarian tribes that live there
