ok i laughed out loud when you said "he said magic like it was the n word with a hard R".

Failey, the best part was when you said Spike had a hard-on while fighting Buffy in the crypt just before the scene switched to Spike having sex with Harmony.

I love how they set this story up in the last season - when we 1st meet Tara she stutters a lot more, covers her face when she smiles etc - all signs of the abusive background and being made to feel less than. Then the scene where she ruins the demon locator spell - I like it when they play the long game with stories.

This is one of many of my favorites from this season. I’m glad you liked it!

Aaand another episode that's in my 10 ten of Buffy ever! It just exudes such warmth in a way that I feel many shows can't get right without coming across too schmaltzy or forced. I usually *hate* the whole 'family' thing, but we've seen these characters go through so much together over the past five years, without strong connections to their own relatives (Buffy excluded). They've earned it!

I like that this was all setup before, we just couldn't connect the dots till now! It shows they are thinking ahead and really planning out the seasons. I know you said Buffy hasn't evolved much, but I really do beg to differ. Especially this season she has made huge steps forward in her progression in many ways, for one, finally taking the Slayer thing seriously and wanting to be better and know more. It seems like she is more grounded now, and has a plan for her life, where she was just kind of floating along previously. I think she's grown a lot. And I also forsee her growing so much more over time.

I like this episode overall but also personally found the reveal to be anticlimactic. They hinted at Tara hiding something before and it was found out to be fake and resolved in one episode.

Personally, I'm glad it was wrapped up in one episode, I wouldn't have wanted to see that plot continue past an episode, to be honest.

Yeah same, if it went on any longer or spanned across multiple episodes then I think people would start to get the impression that it was something that had to do with the overarching plot. Like the big bad or the next big bad or something like that.

Oh, if you think this is a banger of an episode (and yes, I agree, it's phenomenal!), just you wait!! You have no idea what's yet to come...

Cristina Sanchez

I am so excited for you to be on season 5!!!! 😝🤯😝🤯😝😍

So glad you liked this one, Failey! "He said magic like it was the N-word with a hard R." Yeah. Or since this was a huge metaphor for coming out, like it was the F-word with a hard "T."
