I once had the opportunity to take a guest ride-along on a smaller Navy ship for 5 days. Since I have motion sickness, this was a bad idea. Luckily they had me well supplied with pills to help with it, and by the end of the cruise I was doing ok. But when I got back on land, I could hardly walk, and I felt as bad as I usually do while on a boat. Luckily it only took me about a day to get back to normal, but it was rough. I now avoid boats as much as possible.

Little-known fact, Kreutzug actually started by pacing rather than walking to really get that swaying in there and then slowly moved back to walking.
