Early end-of-week pomodoro report (Patreon)
Content
A pomodoro is a 25-minute block of focused work. I promised to do at least 10 per week when the first funding goal was reached.
Target: 10 pomodoros Achieved: 35 pomodoros
(Friday) Pomodoros I-VI
Moar work on Beta test version of the new character generation system. (Release Chargen Beta +10%).
(Saturday) Pomodoros I-VIII
Created a new object system that will enable us to add backgrounds and skill packages into the game without changing any code in the game. This is a big deal, which directly attacks the problem of slow updates: the easier we make it to add new content, the quicker new content can be added. (Code RPG system into the game+20%).
Busy week on the game! I'm publishing this report early because I have set aside tomorrow to catch up on my real job and just basically reörganise my life (the day of pain and suffering), so there will be no moar pomodoros this week.
Today's work was mostly under-the-hood stuff, but I'm incredibly pleased with it. Hyneman and I* developed a really elegant piece of code that allowed us to establish relationships between variables with much less code than before. Anything that reduces dev time directly reduces time between updates, so I'm really happy with this improvement.
* Okay, it was mostly Hyneman
