Sorry for the radio silence over the last few days.  I needed a weekend off, but I went down with a bad cold!  I don't normally get sick – I need to rest and exercise better next year.

Anyway, I dragged myself out of my pit to fix some bugs reported by Operators+, and add in some placeholder graphics.  Attached is the beta version of the new sex scene that I've been threatening you with.

What to expectIt's a test of a new way to do sex scenes.  Instead of click-click-clicking to fill up an arousal bar, there are now decision points and dice rolls.

There's lots of placeholder text and I probably missed some bugs.

It's not as good as I was hoping it would be.  Let's make it better based on community feedback.  I've already had some great suggestions from Operators+, so please give me your feedback – good and bad – here, in DMs, or on Discord.

Next stepsMy plan is to use the next week for reflection and strategy, so we hit the New Year running.  I'll post more here later in the week, but in the meantime please have a lovely Christmas everybody!

Just tried it out. The sex scene feels way more engaging and fun than the old version. I think you are on the right track. The floating text with the info about the rolls is distracting as it temporarily covers the text. Maybe move it to the bottom of have a dedicated row where it doesn't cover other information. Your previous dev updates started to worry me as they sounded so negative but I think you're too hard on yourself. Keep up the good work. Happy holidays to you all.

Jax

She should probally put the champagne down at some point.

I just scratched the surface, not even getting to the sex bits, and I'm already astonished by the amount of choices. It feels more and more like you're there. That said, only you know how much of what you built is an engine and how much spare parts :). I agree with Johnny up there, if possible (maybe as an option for the user) knowing what you're rolling for would be fantastic. The avatar "undressing" parts are a nice addition too, hotter than I expected, but only if they don't come at the cost of losing the written word (in this case sexy descriptions). I'll give more feedback as soon as I can delve deeper, Merry Christmas to you&family

I thought that this was great progress, lots of fun getting to choose all of these options and see how they play out. The most I'd say is that the roll results popups could use a dedicated location on the screen, it's nice to know your results but it kind of gets in the way at times. Otherwise I thought it was great and can't wait to see how this continues to evolve, especially with kinks and skills opening up more options.

It's a huge improvement to what's available in game but I think that it can be even better. I wrote a bit in your previous post but I gave it some more thought. As have been mentioned, earlier the info about the rolls are a bit annoying, but after thinking about it I believe that it's more about the frequency. I think that there's too much clicking involved, but the overall length of the scene is quite alright. So I'd probably try to make each sequence a bit longer and see which choice can be removed - more or less fusing some sequences together. To me it feels like some choices are a bit unnecessary while some are missing. In a sex scene I'd like to know a number of things: - Who's participating? Here provided by the NPC generator and the character creation, so the sex engine would mostly just have different descriptions (and dice rolls) depending on the data input. - Where they are (location). Doesn't have to mean that there are a different set of options depending on where they are, but that some descriptions are different. Her being in cowgirl position in the bed and on the beach can be treated more or less the same when it comes to which choices are given to the player, but the text describing the scene would obviously need to be different. - How they are actually doing it, and here I'd like some more choices and options. What's their position? Can the NPC change it on their own? Can the heroine change it? Are they enjoying it? Is it sweet and tender or rough and fast? Any dirty talk? How and where are they orgasming? - When it comes to anticipation and foreplay I'd place most of it outside the Sex Engine. To use some examples, in theory I guess that you could say that the scene with Max begins during the dinner (or even earlier), since it provides with anticipation for what's to come. And the backdoor casting scene can be said to start at either the interview or during the wet t-shirt contest. Those things give very different flavour to how the scenes themselves are interpreted, even with the differences in the sex acts. I think that you're a bit too harsh though, because you're obviously on the right track.

Pit-o-rats

It is kind of okay... I guess because the length of this test version is too short. If the final version still has foreplay like the current version but with this setting, that would be perfect. Btw, I still appreciate the pleasure bar to still be there because that helps me decide a lot what should I choose next. Plus the fact that it gives me more of visual picture than just text and text.

Toadsith

Bug report: I pushed Max onto the bed, and there's no way to continue the game. The last two lines just say, "Your dress has ridden up so high that Max's crotch is pushing against your thong. You can feel an erection stirring in his pants ."

Toadsith

I like it, I do think the roll indicators are really distracting, seeing them inline at the top of the page makes more sense to me. I also wonder why I'm rolling quite so much. Like I get it if I'm actively trying to make Max cum or trying to not cum, or attempting something new (first time trying anal, or whatever) but I feel like some things you can just do. No need to roll for continuing fucking, but if I'm trying to be extra sexy to get him off quick, sure, that makes sense. I guess maybe if the rolls are less distracting, then I won't really care. I also think it is important to have some control of how the scene ends, or some narrative reason for why the agent wouldn't have control about it. Namely, I feel like it should be addressed if he's about to cum in her, or if she wants to finish him off in her mouth, etc. Ideally, I'd like her to be able to suggest going again if she's got the stamina for it. He might not be able to, but I think that option would be great.

Siao

I actually like this scene. If this is the standard I can expect for other sex scenes (either story or randomly generated) than I am really impressed with how it works. A suggestion here, keep the stats in, I like to see how are things progressing throughout the sex.

Jhornofall

Not a *huge* fan of the rolls, but otherwise i think it works really well.

GreyShadow

This works well enough to put it in the game. Pretty disappointed it isn't integrated in this release. It's been, what, at least 3 months since the last release, and this just doesn't feel like what I've been waiting for/paying for. It's a good *piece*, but it needs integrated so I can play it with the character I set up. Not to mention, y'know, actually having more game to play. The pace is a bit untenable. I appreciate the way you *think* about creating the game (and the insights you give us along the way), but the actual output is somewhat...lackluster.

Jeff

I like the way it flows but hoping for more exhibition scene in the game or different type of clothing the FA has to wear to certain events

Buster4MC

I really enjoyed it! It's a big step up from the old way. I'll have to try to think for a while on how to improve it, but over all kudos.

if you choose (thong on bent over the balkony) then (take it), (into the waistband) (between your lips...) after that there are no more options. nothing to cklick on

Also gave it a go. It's definitely an improvement, I think everybody's in agreement there. I would also agree that the current dice roll pop-ups should go. Having a dedicated line/row at the bottom of the page for that might work, but I think a better way of making it less of a distraction/visual obstruction AND provide satisfying insight into what this or that dice roll decided may be to highlight the part that was decided by skill + dice and show the dice roll and/or other factors involved if the player hovers the mouse over it. It doesn't necessarily have to provide minute details of the math behind it but it would be more easy to recognize cause and effect than by purely having the dice rolls et cetera be listed somewhere. I liked the choices offered (I assume that the greyed-out options that required kinks et cetera were the placeholders you spoke of?) although I sometimes would have liked a tiny bit more control over the action - that said, I know from personal experience how quickly writing sequences and choices like this can get insanely complicated and explode in scope. As for the sex itself, I'd say that it might need maybe a little bit more detail, more substance. Striking the balance between pace and detail is difficult but a tiny bit more might still be in order. My concern here is that if there is too little meat there, even the unique scenes before the more generic/randomized scenes later on will feel same-y and not sexy enough. I caught myself thinking "where's the rest of the scene?" a few times playing the last version of the game and I would have liked to see the PC's partners and herself to show a bit more personality, reaction, and enjoyment or aversion during the scenes. That being said, I think this system in itself provides a great foundation for all future work - don't let my input/criticism/nitpicking fool you into thinking that you haven't already done a great job!

Hope you feel better soon! Holiday colds are a double-wham - you're sick plus you are sick when everyone else is cheerful and you can't join in!

Penelope

I liked the options to leave or continue or whatever. And I agree that the pleasure bar is very nice to have. I'd also like to see other options where maybe she turns the table on him, luring him to bed, hand-cuffing him to the posts, stripping him naked, and then just taking what she needs from his phone while she dresses slowly in front of him and makes her way from his room. I like alternatives that could really happen, and as an agent I think i'd do that under the right conditions. I'd also gag him and put the do not disturb sign on the door to buy more get away time.

Penelope

Also, I liked what you have so far and hope it keeps going well! And I do like the dice rolls, because you don't always succeed at things.

Penelope

You could also have implications of her turning the tables on him as he tries to get back at her while she's still in country and create cat and mouse moments or other moments.
