Poll 32 Results, Poll 33 and This Week (Patreon)

Wow, doesn't feel like a week! We actually have a tie for Poll 32, with 13 votes each for Armour Penetration and an Arty/CAS Test. Armour Pen doesn't come close to winning that often, so I feel like it deserves a look in for a change. It may be time for the Daimler Littlejohn to shine!

If you haven't heard of the Littlejohn adaptor, it's an attachment that uses the squeeze-bore principal to greatly increase muzzle velocity. In that respect it's kind of similar to a sabot round, except instead of the sub-calibre penetrator being carried outwards by a platform it's surrounded by softer, more malleable metal that compresses in the narrower section of the barrel.

Sabot rounds ultimately turned out to be more successful (for obvious reasons) and the squeeze bore principle pretty much got dropped after WW2 for good reasons of reliability, barrel life and accuracy, but in CM it's a nasty little surprise on wheels for overconfident Wehraboos!

In other news, I'm 2/3rds of the way in Semper Fi Syria Mission 4 and should polish that off today. So far, it's been one of those missions where- despite a handful of things not working as expected (looking at you fields of mud!) my basic plan is working out fine. In some respects, that makes the subsequent video harder to make: it's a lot more interesting when everything goes wrong than it is when the AAR amounts to "saw enemy, destroyed enemy."

Once Mission 4 is out of the way (which shouldn't take too long given that the video is already half done, and it's the editing intense part at that), we have a War Room episode next in the list. I could do with this being relatively short and sweet so I can keep on top of everything and keep plugging away at some work for Slitherine in the background. I still fancy covering the Battle of Ferrybridge, but that goes hand-in-hand with some serious caveats- thank you Medieval source material and your casual relationship with minor details like historical accuracy and providing useful tactical details.

Aside from all that, I need to devote more time and effort to the JL28 Staffex and I have a bit of a side-project I want to run by you guys here when it's finished ;) It's little left-field, but I think it's an avenue worth exploring.

That brings us round to this week's Poll: we're back to the modern stuff and after Infantry Firepower's win last time round, the options are Armour Penetration and Arty/CAS.
