Not really a 'milk run' (a safe, easy, routine task if you're not familiar with the lingo) but I've gotten rid of the other LAV-AT, which can only be a good thing!

More seriously, the Syrians in this mission were a tougher prospect than last time and it took a fair bit of shaping to get the battle to where I wanted to... at which point, well you'll see.

The snipers actually got the lions share of the kills in this one. I'm usually pretty disdainful of snipers in CM... probably because they get a lot of hype in popular culture but mostly sit around looking at things. In this one, they really racked up the kills. Mostly by directing mortars and artillery, granted, but some of them spent the battle picking off Syrian soldiers across the Wadi and probably really enjoyed themselves.

In other news, looks like next week's Basics video is going to cover Electronic Warfare in CM. That should be nice and straightforward: the effects are all laid out in the manual.

I still need to think of something to cook up for the Winter Turn-by-Turn as well... we did Red Thunder last time, so we're on to a Modern title again. Shock Force was the year before that, plus obviously there's been a lot of recent SF2 content with the Marine campaign... Black Sea I don't particularly want to get stuck into because of current events... which leaves Cold War. You know... the unbalanced one.

I am flirting with an interesting idea for this though. It would be very cool to work CMO integration into a big multiplayer campaign similar to Concrete Hell. As long as I don't screw it up this time.

Great example of 'peeling the onion', well done!

Spoiler for the video: An option to refuse the surrender, but without further friendly casualties counting for the campaign, would be really nice.

I am looking forward to the planned pack for CW, the British Army on the Rhine. Canucks too! Sadly no Germans but adding in the push back to 1976 is fantastic. And, yeah, I'd call that a milk run. Aside from our NATO allies the only other army out there that might give the US military a serious fight would be the forces of the PRC. Everything else is asymmetrical warfare.

It definitely can be, but the AI so often surrenders right before you are about to carry out your well planned and coordinated assault.
