This series was originally on Vimeo but that may or may not be that accessible these days (I should really look into that, actually...).

So I've mashed all the episodes into a single video and uploaded here.

Enjoy!

Thank you, sir. You are the best!

9:15 autocannon fire is terrifying. Your life will never be the same.... I have a bandicam video of a Cold War game i played in which an M60 and a Bradley smashed an entire company of BTRs caught in the open while dismounting . If the bradley had been 60 seconds late then 6 squads of fresh russian infantry would have stormed into town it was 5 minutes of nonstop doom da doom da doom. Dead men lay everywhere!

This one looks like a early-mid 2022 setting, no FPV, lots of vehicles on both sides, artillery ammunition abundant for both sides. Basically what everyone planned for on the eve of Feb 24th. But if history shows anything, wars rarely go the way they re intended to be fought. Really, the Russian armed force of 2024 is a whole other beast compared to that of 2022. (I'd argue the 2024 one traces its lineage to the Russian army born after first Chechen war)

There are many problems with IFV concept, but IFVs do wxcel at killing things with cannons

Awesome series, looking forward to more of the same. The EFP concept of the series makes voor a very good storyline and interesting units!

It's a real struggle trying to guage how the... er, 'Donovians' would fight these days, so there's a tendency to 'round up', as it were

It's a machinegun on steroids! But yeah, modern autocannon + modern sensors= super effective

Seeing the barrage in the 4th engagement was harrowing--and I saw this one the first time around too! Seeing craters like that should be a morale check all its own. PTSD-rich environment.

OK, the actual problem has to do with collective european defense these days (I don’t want to unleash unhinged political rant so not gonna talk about “it’s over”)

I mean, it depends, I guess? On the one hand it's terrifying, on the other hand- at least in this context- the enemy has just blocked their own avenue of attack with rubble and craters...

That was great fun to watch. It is particularly interesting to see the CM Professional toys, Boxers And Ajaxes, strut their stuff. Other than the freer use of artillery, I didn't notice any of the new mechanics at play there - entering buildings through windows etc. Have you found any of those engine changes making muchness a difference?

UsuallyHaplessVideos

Entering buildings through windows is a nice ease of life change. You don't really notice it that much (or, I may be conditioned to not consider it!) but its nice to not have to look for doors on buildings. Being able to see where UAVs are is a big one, especially enemy UAVs. The convoy command is in there too, but I never use it because I don't trust it that much. Apart from that, it's mostly kit differences.

I hear you. My first thought after the initial barrage ended was: Verdun. They took a town and turned it into what looks almost like a scene from WWI. And from an operational aspect, it was raining. I can only imagine what that's all going to look like in a day or two, barring brilliant sunshine.

Entering buildings through windows, is that in Shock force only or do all the titles have such as Cold War?

Itchy Scoop

It is only Combat Mission Professional, one that us civilians don't have access to. You need to be 'special' like Hapless to get a copy! Various other differences too (including different units).
