Or, the Strider if you've played a lot of ARMA 3. It's an interesting piece of kit, though you have to wonder if it would benefit from having two seats up front.

Sadly, the telescopic camera mount doesn't work in CM, but you can stick a GMG on the roof so I'll forgive it.

Honesly I like Luch more as a recon vehicle, a big gun still matters in meeting engagements

Well, that's a question isn't it? What's better these days: a multi-million dollar reconnaissance vehicle or three guys in a pickup with some artillery on call?

OK, I'd choose motorbikes, which works for JNIM in Mali (it was in fact also considered by the US Army in the 1980s). But that only works in a world where enemy artillery doesn't exist and killchain alone is enough to do a screening operation, and NBC protection is of no concern, and thermals are overrated, and electronic warfare won't fry the civilian-grade car radios or the manpacks the guys carry. Heavily armed pickups are more useful for LRDG-style desert operations, I think. For the "Persian Predicament expanded universe," I envisioned the idea of a troop from the 23rd doing this kind of stuff from the deserts east of Bandar Abbas. Some of the operations succeed while others are abysmal failures, basically a disaster, but worse. It really can make for an interesting scenario with one side doing drive-bys from their ridiculously well-armed small cars like it's Mad Max. But this kind of recon doctrine is only feasible in a world where enemy artillery don't exist. The weirder ways of special reconnaissance include pre-positioning people, if inside the border there's the Stay Behind Organization stuff.
