Are more tanks going to help?

More tanks, more shells, more bullets, until one side cracks and gives up.

I think the line that told us we were in trouble was “a plan would have helped” (15:22)🤣 just what everyone in the battle wants to hear from their commander. It's not looking good is it but good luck to those still kicking (I think I am so far, probably not for long). Mass for the win!

GLG

Wow, I didn't see this coming either, but in order for the Germans to win this scenario does require thinking in terms of mass, because you have no 'long arm' German tanks with M26's on the other side of the map. To play the German game of long arm tanks supporting the assaulting tanks, you need Tiger II's. Tiger II's and Panthers. Also, I wanted to mention the survivors of AtlasActual's tank KO were further attrited when a Tiger bought it nearby on Turn 39. Not sure if it was GLG(me) or Someguywho, but one of 'us' fell to the ground when the Tiger got popped. Also, there may have been more losses among another survivor tank crew nearby, but I'm not sure. FYI.

Are any of those Sherman tanks Jumbos? Some of them look like it.

GLG

Damn. Yeah, mass may be the only choice, methinks. I'm starting to wonder what it would have been like if you had gone 'Soviet' and set a preplanned smoke barrage to roughly synch with when the mass of your tanks could be brought to a jump off point(TBD via your scouts). The smoke would allow for a more isolated attack and your Tigers & Panthers would plough snow, rushing the US tanks. It would be a real messy one, but I don't know what else might work. You could say a bunch of eastern front vets came to an epiphany and it was decided they would have to take a page from the ol' bolsheviks' book.

GLG

Oh hell, you can't preplan unless you have an idea of where you're going to go. Come to think of it, what you're doing now, at least from Limbo's perspective, is probably the best one. Draw attention from one direction, then punch from the other. The issue is one of alacrity, and that means coming to this conclusion at the scenario's start. Incidentally, this is the critical stage as a Soviet player. And, maybe nebelwerfers instead of 105s? Just keep the rockets as far into the US positions as possible and saturate the place. I know, it's not your cup of tea, as it were, but it might be the only thing to beat the combo of Pershings and Jumbos with your current forces. If you really want to go German, it would have to be Tiger IIs instead of Tiger Is. Jagdtigers? So many 'what ifs' to this one!
