Ok, so it should be the War Room and it's not... that's coming, I promise.

But multiplayer is worth it! This is a game between Unremarkable Sunray and myself (go watch his CM videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@unremarkablesunray ), where we've pretty much taken the random objectives concept from the Platoon Patrol and thrown it into a quick battle meeting engagement.

So it's a little different than you're usual CM mulitplayer... hopefully you guys find it as interesting as we did!

Great stuff. Really good to see another human opponent based video!

Result! My two favourite CM content- creators

Great video, and I really like the format. While pure tactical fights are fun, in the real world, they are always part of a larger operational context. The battle of 73 Easting or a single US Civil War (or English Civil War) battlefield is a great staff ride opportunity, but the true learning discussion occurs by placing the fight in context of linking operational objectives in support of strategic end states.

I like the concept and look forward to the next installment!

It was great to see you at a 'regular' sort of CM battle again. And the location is a favorite of mine as well. The idea of unique objectives is a very nice variant. Looking forward to seeing how the engagement pans out.

Yeah! More CMFI! Love Italy. Any book you would recommend on Italian front? Love chain battles!

I haven't read much to be honest. The US Army Green Books are very good. Spike Milligan's "Mussolini: His Part in My Downfall" is pretty good if you want the memoirs of a British Army artilleryman in Italy. Very funny, until it isn't.

What would be your reading list for WW2 history? I found a lot in my local Waterstones. Finished reading Tunnels of Cu Chi, terrific read. Also down there I found Mark Bowden's Hue 1968, another great book on historical urban combat

I highly recommend Rick Atkinson’s “The Day of Battle: The War in Sicily and Italy, 1943-1944 (The Liberation Trilogy Book 2)”.

Really enjoyed this action - infantry company and a few extra assets makes for a really interesting set of tactical choices. Queue the benny hill theme tune for the marder/stuart shenanigans. Very lucky you had already started reversing before he came over the ridge!
