This proved to be a much less involved video than I thought it would be. TRPs are really useful, but it doesn't take much to explain that they allow you to call in artillery beyond line of sight, skip the spotting phase for arty and get rounds on target faster with direct fire. Even trying to nail down the effects of direct fire was faster than I anticipated: the test results were pretty conclusive from the word go.

But, not everyone knows this stuff so I'm sure it will help somebody.

I always go into 'deer in the headlights' mode when determining ideal TRP in a huge or large match. I guess allocating multiple TRPs is one answer but larger maps often require more forces to cover the space. Maybe that's why I like organic on-map mortar units. 'Direct fire' mortar fire isn't a TRP, but maybe the next best thing?

Hap, you touched only lightly on the utility of defender placing a TRP in dead ground where an attacker is likely to assemble, say behind a ridge line or in a gully.

Yeah, that's a classic. Not sure I can cover every possibility, got to give people a chance to work things out themselves!
