Given that I don't post here half as much as I should... an update! This week I'm focusing on tying up some loose ends: I'm working on the Road to Damascus Phase 2 Results video plus two... other projects.I think the Road to Damascus campaign is pretty much over. Which is a little disappointing, but Blue absolutely smashed Red in Phase 2 (my fault: it was the unholy combination of the Thunder Run and Barricades) and messing with the rules to make Blue win less hard after the fact is something I want to do about as much as I want to put Red through some kind of excruciating and horrendously unlikely to suceed Phase 3 counterattack. So, it's the end of the campaign. That said, it was always a prototype/test-bed and it's performed perfectly in that regard: all the practical behind-the-scenes mechanics for collecting, processing and plotting the results have worked really well and they were a much bigger question mark than any kind of campaign mechanics. It's also highlighted some things that probably need smoothing out or refining, but it's a solid base to build on in the next one ;)I'm also starting to plan out/research the next Unit Guide (due next week and earlier to you guys if I can) which is looking like it's going to be on Tankodesantniki (which I am sure I am not going to be able to pronounce). This is to tie in the with the Steam release of Combat Mission Red Thunder, what with SMG toting swarms of infantry on swarms of tanks being quintessentially WW2 Soviet. I did start looking into doing the T34 and while it has a surprisingly limited presence ingame (there are only 5 base variants, plus 2 flamethrower tanks) there's so much to unpack with the T34. I even downloaded Red Orchestra 2 again to show off the interior. Oh well. Maybe later.Beyond that... the next Scottish Corridor mission is on the horizon. This takes place on an expanded version of the last map, but is a much bigger battle. At some point I'm going to get an 8 gun Priest battery to call on so... I doubt there's going to be a lot left when I'm done! But, that's the outline for the immediate future. Plenty of look forward to!
