And it's the last video batch to boot. If you've watched so far, you'll probably have a good idea how this pans out :PResults aside, there look to be plenty of people on Youtube who appreciate seeing the actual process of playing the game, so mission accomplished. There also some people who don't seem to know what 'Hapless' means, but I'm not about to not share some content because it makes me look crap :)

Anyway, like I've said the other half of the game- CMRT Not One Step Back- is all set to go next week and Operation Whetstone Mission 3 is now chugging along nicely (well, nicely in the sense that the game is progressing...).

I've spent most of the week so far trying to get the next Basics video sorted but keep hitting stumbling blocks. So I've decided to break the writers block by going out the box. Should be fun!

This is like watching a car crash in slow motion

In RO2 you often times got a whinger who claimed that somebody was hacking because the whinger got head-shotted whilst in smoke. However, it always seemed to me if an enemy tossed a smoke grenade into, say, a doorway, then firing into that smoke-filled doorway was a reasonably profitable tactic. My point being - is it possible to order area fire into smoke in CM? Or does the lack of LOS prohibit this?

You can't shoot through smoke in CM sadly, at least not on purpose. It would be very useful though- certainly standard practice for me in RO2 to shoot at smoke. Or charge the smoke with a satchel...

the classic pull the pin on the grenade and rush into the enemy trick?

Assuming you used WP for your smoke, the fact it rose seemed to kill-off any hope of your attack succeeding. This fantastic video by FreeWhisky - https://youtu.be/Wc-PzT8tvSI?si=eFiQF4RgLzgq3ff4&t=677 Shows the different behaviour of between more modern smoke (HP) rounds and WP. Lots of really useful info in there if you hadn't seen it already. Potentially you could have timed your assault to match the WP for some success?

I thought Hap took a bit too long to start moving after the smoke started. However, looking at the quantity of troops in the buildings, I don't think it wouldn't have mattered.
