Hooowl!

In keeping with a canine theme this month, I'd like to introducing the articulated Wolf!! This features a print-in-place body, similar to the tigers and bunny, but with snap-fit heads in two variants!! You get the standard smiling face and the howling face versions! The snap-fit makes it pretty easy to swap between the heads. Check out a quick Demo Video Here! (I added small leg pre-supports after recording this, just for a little added security)

I hope you like it!Matt

Pictured Prints use the following filaments***1) Ziro Matte Gray (lighter gray), Sunlu Matte Gray (darker gray), Charcoal Black, Cotton White, Cookiecad Blue Chip2) Ziro Wood Grain, Amolen Rock Rainbow, Charcoal Black, Muted White3) iSANMATE PLA+ Rainbow4) Ziro Mist (tri-extrusion)*To Download: Click Here to go to the Pinned "the Hub - Info and Current Download Links" post3D PRINTING SETTINGS:

Two Heads!: both Smiling Face and Howling Face versions!  Snap-Fit to Body. No supports needed.

Body: Pre-supported. No additional supports needed. Several joints must be wiggled and "cracked" free in order to articulate them. Be Extra careful with brittle filaments, like silks

Multicolor 3MF: Compatible with slicers based on PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Orca.

10%-15% Infill.

3 Walls

This should generally scale down to about 65% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer. Your mileage may vary.

The two head options are perfect!!! Love this so much!

MCFIA.CRAFT3D

I really like this, my daughter loves it. I hope you make another one that follows along with most of your others with a more realistic look too!🤎

This looks like it’s straight out of Dreamworks!

Good morning! It's 8:53 here. How nice to receive such letters in the morning. I am delighted with this wolf. The eyes are very expressive and the level of detail in general is pleasing!

BrookieBe

The howling face is so good! Can't wait to print this 🌙🐺

druksy

Oh wow! We had a terrible night here, but seeing such a surprise in the morning cheers up me a lot! I love this model! Might be my favorite 😍

Crissy

is there a ver2? i dont have the howling head

matmire_makes

Nope, it should be in that v01 download. There are two head STL files, and the 3MF files contain both heads.

Crissy

i found it. Sorry, my files were out of order, my fault .Thank you! ( any thoughts on maybe doing the Gila or Kimoto dragon in the future,Plz

Krafty Kiwi

currently printing at 150%. Wolves are my favorite animal alongside horses XD does take it to being over a 2-day print with the colour changes, but it's going to be so worth it! Thank you for yet another awesome animal! Oh and yes thank you for the 2 head options, that is an awesome idea!

Mr Creates

Hi pal iv tried getting hold but no luck iv not had the link or had anything sent to MMF since march

RCD3D Russell CAD

Love the wolf it came out amazing, Also love the 2 styles!

Rachel Turner

Hi. I printed this, both head versions. I love the look of it, but finding that the heads pop off quite easily if moved at all. If I scale the head up a percent compared to the body, would it hold it better? Also. Would you do a version that prints lying down? So it could be quicker to print. Or is that too tricky with the design? Thanks xx

Jasmine Beauparlant

Hi! Mine won’t stand at 80%, it’s too floppy. is it suppose to stand easily?

RCD3D Russell CAD

prints fine and it stands ok but I printed at 100%

Jasmine Beauparlant

Hi, so it looks like I should adjust XY compensation to make the joints tighter but then that option doesn’t work for multicoloured files. So there’s no way to fix the floppy joints..? Are these files not supposed to be scaled down? Thanks

I’m curious how everyone is managing the five colors of the smiling head on a four color AMS. I’m using a technique of manually swapping out the eye color with black for each layer that has five colors. This works but takes a lot of babysitting. Any other techniques out there?

Krafty Kiwi

I can't provide an answer for printing it at 80% for i enlarged mine 150%. I find with my printed wolves if i have the front leg joints locked in their straight position then the wolves are able to stand just as they are pictured in his photos above.

druksy

I've just printed them at 80%. They are standing quite well for such an articulated toy. I did have to find the best position to do so. But it's a usual thing for print-in-place toys.

druksy

How long did it take you to print 150%? It must be awesome!!!!

Jasmine Beauparlant

Hey! How do you lock the joints? Mine doesn’t seem to do that

Jasmine Beauparlant

Mine are not standing at all🥲 did you somehow lock the joints?

WendiMB

Have you considered making a dingo? I have a person that is requesting an articulated dingo and I cannot find one.

Tatum

I cannot get the head to attach. It's like the ball in the head is too big for the hole or something. I've tried everything short of breaking it. Please help.

Extrudables

Did you find a solution as we are having the exact same issue and cannot get the heads to attach as the ball doesn't want to go in
