Here's a quick demo video of the model.

I hope you like it!Matt

3 Walls.

Pulling the legs out fully allows them to pop into sockets. That creates enough tension to make him stand up.  It may be difficult the first few times, but once it breaks-in, it should work with light effort.  The head has built in pre-supports, just twist the head after printing to crack the joint free. Here is a demo video of the print. This should generally scale down to about 65% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer.  YMMV  *Click Here to go to the Pinned "the Hub - Info and Current Download Links" post****Paid Links.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I never been so sad that all my printers are currently in use. This is awesome and can’t wait to get it printing :)

OMG this is the cutest. I'm new to 3d printing and have so many I want to print I'm a bit overwhelmed, in a good way hehe

Jenny Gillett

Bernadette Kruk

What great detail, and such a cute face!!

PixelPrints Studio

Amazing..., Quick Question: Which of the Images are done with MMU, Doest the provided 3MF already deal with the temp change for the different colors/shades?

matmire_makes

The brown one is the mmu print. By temp color change, I mean the filament changes color depending on the temperature it is. If it’s cold it’s brown, as you heat it up it changes to orange and yellow. If you watch the linked video, I show how it changes color with a torch.

Amber Little

Love this so much!! I have an 90lb Sulcata Tortoise so this is the perfect print for me!

dejjen

OK dude, I seriously love this. I've been waiting for like ever for a turtle that could retract into the shell. I think I even sent you a message about a year ago about the possibility of a box turtle. This is gonna be printed NOW!

lulu

Mon fils va adorer !!! Merci beaucoup!

Paul Simister

Just woke up to this and WOW that is amazing!

Doug Prock

I love the tortoise, but I have been having trouble with the chin. It doesn't print clean all the time. Do I need to use a support or is it supposed be designed for no supports?

Ducky Pool

I just got mine off of my printer and he is gorgeous. Incredibly clever design and adorable, as usual.

Jeremy

I just did one scaled-down to 30% so tiny so cute and still works amazing design!

Maury

I have one on the machine and also had a little snafu on the first neck seam in the front at the thinnest part. It continued on so I'm letting it run to see how it finishes.

Maury

Ok this is weird....I'm running a 2nd one, and they both broke in the same spot. The first one is at 100% with 0.4 nozzle and a little piece broke off right at the collar in front. The 2nd one is at 35%, on a 0.2mm nozzle on a different machine, and a piece broke off in the same spot.

MamaBear

Love it, but studio is giving me issues trying to paint it. ugh!!!

Maury

Big one is done...I think the piece that I thought had broken off was just an unsupported overhang under the chin. Once I pulled the extra off and got the head moving, the spot it came from was mostly concealed.

David Long

Full articulation at 50% on a Bambu X1CC

Heather Dryer

I did 6 at 60% on my Bambu X1CC and they are awesome! I can only imagine how incredible a gator would be if you did one.

Shredder3D

Also did a couple plates of 8 at 60%. They turned out great

Misty Thompson

Did one on my Ender 3 at 75%. His chin had a few issues but SO ADORABLE!

Kevin Finch

Can't wait for the teenage mutant ninja turtles member exclusive variant!

David Simmons

Honestly this is among my favorite prints ever! Thank you!

cobyn

is it possible to get a version with thicker supports on the head and neck piece? I can print 65% in single color just fine, but the mmu version is struggling with the head coming lose :(

Royal Fortune 3D

Got it made from 100%-60% no problems gonna have to try that 50% someone’s talking about.

matmire_makes

Just released a v02beta with updates to the head area that some people are having issues with. Please download the latest!

Abigail Petri

I tried to download the new version and I couldn't get the link to work....is there a specific spot you put it? I LOVE the tortise! He turned out adorable!

matmire_makes

Hm, I just tried the download link and it worked for me. What happens when you click it?

Stephanie Pulsifer

Is anyone having issues with the bottom layer coming off on the plate? I’ve done 3 and they all have the bottom stay on the plate?

Mr James

I only printed 1 but I didn't have any issue. Creality 5s1 stock

aaron lingenfelter

Ashley Kemp

Favorite print out of everyone I follow. Love tortoises

HummingBird Designs

Hi Mat, wondering if you’ve thought of doing a rat? I have had a few people who absolutely love your style of design & have been asking for a rat??? Thanks!

neil pelling

how long print time at 100% mine is saying 13hr ?

3DNestCZ

One of the best designs of yours Mat! I was just wondering if you could provide custom brim for legs and head as you do for others as e.g. PrusaSlicer doesn't let me block brim for the body if I use brim for the whole model and that (in some scales) fills the bottom details or makes them very hard to clean up. I know there are some tricks to make own brims or mouse ears but that sounds too hacky to me if I see you providing it for other models. Thank you very much for your work!

3DandSEE

I keep getting some very small stringing on the overhangs of the shell with my P1S. Anyone else seeing this with theirs and/or change anything other than slow down for overhangs on their settings to fix this? I'm printing version 2.

Nishi Sood

Tortoise printed out so nicely!! Is it possible to make a version where you can unscrew the shell and hide candy etc. in a secret compartment?

Wendy Medeiros

how small have you guys been able to print him?

Chiefs65tpt

I tried to go 65% and it kept failing will try 75% in the next few days

Jill Martin

Mini Turtle Keychain would be awesome!

Samuel Clonch

you should find eggs for the tortoises and for the snakes

GATO

can you make a baby version of this Turtle pls?

Amanda stephens

This print is amazing... How big has anyone scaled up?

Karie

Hi, I'm new and I love your work! I printed the tortoise at 40% with no problem. But I'm currently printing at 50% and I've lost 3 of 5. The neck/head is somehow releasing backward into the shell during print. I know it's an adhesion issue. What the best way to avoid it in the future? Tree support under the head/neck? Brimming? I'm new to printing in general and would love any advice. Thanks

Lisa

How do I use my 50% off code to purchase? Thanks

matmire_makes

Copy the discount code that is listed in my Hub - Info post (there's a link to the Hub above in this post). Then go to either my Cults3D or MyMiniFactory store (links to those shops are right next to the code) and add the files you want to the cart. During checkout, paste the code into the discount field and that's it!
