Hello Patrons, I'm back(-ish)
I want to ask your opinion on something. Since the game is called Bannerlord, I thought perhaps I can utilize some banners in-game to integrate it into Age of Bannerlords to give that "Bannerlord" feeling. Although I'm not sure what would be the best way to do this.

I was planning to add a new unit Bannerman that spawns from castles as special troop to bring discipline to formations. In other words, you wouldn't be able to order certain formations if you don't have Bannerman in the formation, such as shieldwall or square. But I'm not sure if this would be a good idea or not. It's also not easy to implement – so if you have a better suggestions, I would like to hear your ideas as well.

I like the idea of having a unit called "Bannerman". However, I am neutral on your suggested use for it. I definitely think it would be cool to have them in some form - perhaps you could even choose to designate certain soldiers as Bannermen (and undesignate them). This might be even better if the game has unit veterancy (not sure if it does?). But if the Bannerman can be designated it would mean the player might choose to designate a experienced soldier who will survive long or perhaps designate a less experienced soldier to hold the Banner and use experienced ones for the battle. It would be cool if they could summon reinforcements as a special power - whether those reinforcements appear off map or in a cloud of dust (think of how Ranger reinforcements can be called in Battle for Middle Earth). Or perhaps they could give some sort of temporary morale/armour/health/attack boost as a special power? Perhaps there could also be a limit on the number of units you can designate as a Bannerman or the number of units you can train.

I like the ide of a Bannerman. We can discuss what skill/power would fit that role the best but in general I support this feature.

Morale is not part of the mod - since there is no "run away" point in the Age of Empires maps. But I think I can have a look at adding health and/or attack boost when soldiers around. I believe that would be better than formation since that would make bannerman more useful in the field battles.

I would suggest rise of nations approach here as they should give passive buffs. like attack speed or reduced damage taken in nearby units.

Also maybe movement speed buffs etc
