Hello Patrons,

As you may already know, I shared two videos about ChatGPT and Bannerlord a few days ago. If you haven't seen them already here they are

https://youtu.be/akceKOLtytw and https://youtu.be/L_qauw4QM3Q

I was playing around with ChatGPT since it become public and a few weeks ago I thought it would be cool to have such real-like reactions and personas to be in Roleplaying games. So I created a system that can interact with ChatGPT behind the scenes and supply it to Bannerlord NPC dialogues. I'm still working on it to make it more interactive for players. Hopefully I will share some more in the future.

Personally, I enjoyed working on this and I think it might become a reality for some games very soon. It's not exactly suitable for all types of games, of course, especially for linear storyline games, ChatGPT might not be a good idea given that its responses can be very out of "decided" things. But for games like Bannerlord and some other sandboxy games, I think this can be a great addition.

I also saw some people claiming and complaining that this might take over the writer jobs. Well in certain cases, it might, but in this demo, that's not the case. Reason why it's not the case is, all these background stories are compiled from pre-created branches. So what happens is that, when you talk with AI it assigns a random backstory to them but also creates some interesting parts of their life with randomness as well. (Like both can be farmer, but one can be married, other one can be single etc) And each of these lines would be better if they are written by a human writer that understands the conditions of the realm. What ChatGPT is doing in this case is, it's taking this somewhat limited raw information and turning it into a understandable, interactive narrative. It's also adding details that are not given in the initial information, which is extremely valuable and needed for character to "play" along. (Like it may know his kids exist, but it doesn't know their ages, and when you ask, it also creates a random story for them fitting into realm, and writer isn't needed to give those details if they are not relevant to main speaker character)

In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or such about this, feel free to let me know from here or from Discord.

Very cool, any idea when a release may come? How is the compatibility going to be very roughly? / potential support for 1.01? Thanks

I answered this on DM since you also asked there. But for the folks reading here, it doesn't seem to be feasible to release this anywere soon if ChatGPT continues to stay out-of-reach and overloaded right now. That being said, in the future, I might find and release a public version that doesn't rely on ChatGPT. I'm already doing some experiments with other stuff, but these things, unfortunately, take time.

Could you please first produce an incomplete blank version of the GPT version of Bannerlord? As demonstrated in the video, please? I really want to experience this version of GPT
