She was a shut in for most of her school life, so she never learned to socialize properly. She and her family moved to Crossoville when she was of age so that they can pursue their own careers, leaving her on her own most of the time. She took it upon herself to socialize within Crossoville, but Crossoville is so different from anywhere else that she had to take everything at face value. And Crossoville as we all know, is a very lewd place. So generally, she can't tell the difference between socializing and lewdity. So much so that she's uncomfortable with normal small talk. She sees lewd acts as a social expectation.
