I think I'll do another Q&A style peek next sunday, so ask your various questions!  I'll also do my best to go back and check on the old nudges for other questions, too.

Leading on from the Thing Peek, can we get a Peek that explains exactly how Enchantments are made (their inner workings, the ingredients required, the equipment required, why such ingredients and equipment are needed and the techniques used to make said Enchantments).

theguy395k

I'm curious as to how tiny and other scions or lesser dwellers experience death as they are able to respawn it is interesting to consider what they experience during the countdown.

PickledTink

What causes people to shout the same thing when combining attacks? I ask since it is clearly not something they have practiced previously from the examples given in the story, most recently with Rhonda and Rezlar, though Aranya and the gang on the Scythemaw was another.

Istyatur Elestel

Can normal people (non scions) gain a 3rd affinity via titles or class evolution or any other method? Or, should I say are any known yet.

Navar44

Do Dungeons ever receive mail?

deefdragon

Last QA for reference: https://www.patreon.com/posts/peek-answers-to-74610051 Given violet started as a deep dungeon, there are obviously others. Is there like a giant "un/poorly known" ecosystem of underground dungeons (IE kindof like the underdark in DND) or does it eventually end/tail off for lack of life or something?

Zachary Key

I think hat would be a great idea, but a double explanation from both Thing and Queen's expertise on both subject matters.

Zachary Key

A peek in the life of the delvers that are wanting to know more about specific scions due to events. Such events would be like Poe fighting the TT *Terrible Trio* or Fluffles with the storm. What are they finding out, if anything, and what are they experiencing while they watch them? Does Grim ever have anyone ever follow him?

Gregs_Crow

Where do the elves come from?

Chrystal 1776

Going off this I know from previous peeks that a forest with enough life in it can cause a dungeon to appear. This is a dungeon doesn't need to be near sentient life or civilizations to form what biomes both below and above ground have enough life to support a dungeon being made?

What do life and death elementals look like?

Chrystal 1776

I'd love to know more about other kinds of dungeons. We know the dungeon Rest is a decay dungeon that gets it's mana from processing waste from wandering Orks. How does that work? Is it just like the invaders in Thedeim and other dungeons and thus denizens eating the waste is enough? We also know that Thedeim and the Royal dungeon get mana from people paying respects to the dead so are there other unique dungeons that gain mana from places people would frequent anyways? Say hypothetically down the line Rhonda becomes a master sage and wants to teach others. Would building a school on Thediems grounds make mana for him? The effort exerted on teaching and learning theoretically could meet the requirements for mana generation in a dungeon. If this is the case could we see other business benefiting from being within a dungeon in the future? Perhaps the ratkin enclave makes a restaurant or a way station. (if/when Thedeim is big enough to require rest for a full run through) Maybe the Spiderkin start teaching new delvers how to hunt and harvest various denizens within the dungeon? Sorry for the splurge I've been thinking of many of these ideas for some time now. 😅

Nathaniel

Can Violet and Hullbreak communicate with each other now that there both connected to Thedeim? Can dungeons effect what gets claimed in an expansion? Like if Thedeim expand out could he claim specific buildings without other parts of the town. Can dungeons influence what spawners they get? How much trade between the Dweller enclaves and the town is there? What theories do the town have for why Thedeim acts different then other dungeons. How many religious are there? We know about the crystal shield and the bird resident mentioned the golden wings. How many more? What is daily life for the Dwellers like? What do they do for fun? What types of clothes do they wear?

Akylas

Everyone keeps talking about how quickly Thedeim is developing for a dungeon, could we get a list of the progression times for the other notable dungeons? How long it took them to get an enclave, to expand their first time, before they had a Voice, things like that? Just to get a scale of comparisons.

PickledTink

I think Rhonda already gained an additional affinity: Fire.

Istyatur Elestel

That is her second. Plenty of people get second affinities; I want to know how shocked people will be if she picks up kinetic

Sir Real Killer

Ok, third time's the charm So I am wondering what race do your undead sions look like, is Rocky an orc, dwarf, elf or maybe ratkin? Is Thing an elf hand to be better an enchanting? is Grim a troll making him tower over most people (I remember him "leaning over" to shush the head acolyte)? I am also wondering what other mythological creatures you might have in your world, dragons, phoenix unicorns, bicorns, gryphons, ext.

Das Krow

Would love to know what the town at large thinks of the chaos going down recently

Blue Trooper

I know earlier it was at times that the mana gained and lost from hunting spawns was about the same, if not a loss. So a restaurant I'd guess wouldn't generate mana in the dungeon. A school though could be interesting. Have the different denizens run it....etc. Though I'd guess the mana gains would be like regular delving unless it's a quest to learn certain skills during your stay. In which case instead of a school why not have a boot camp type thing run once a season. Allowing for different conditions for them to experience certain types of combat in. Does fire spells loose effectiveness/distance in extreme cold or a snow storm? I could definitely see him or violet doing that. Perhaps Hulkbreak denizens teach swimming, ships, navigation....etc. Each dungeon Thediem expands to takes a specialization while Thedieem does his best to keep them on their toes. Would certainly be interesting. Perhaps with different camps being held for different levels of training. 1st (noobs) years vs 5th years (inspectors) ...etc. As for how poop generates Mana. There are quite a few things found in sewage. It attracts flies, rodents, worms, and other creatures depending upon how old a particular pile is. Some communities run their sewage through hydro-ponics to help filter out the large particles and provide them nutrition. Then it settles and that's scooped out to use as a finer fertilizer. Especially if given time to sit and decompose via decomposer type creatures. Worms, bugs, you get the picture. Bigger creatures hunt the insects and decomposers. The fertilizer can be sold. And given enough treatments along with some form of disinfectant you even end up with clean water at the end. (Think city water. You don't think it's all dumped do you? Often it's routed into crops just outside the city or to a holding reservoir In times of drought. Not only that, but city sewers end up with more than bodily waste. From weapons and bodies, to cash and toys. Those could be used for various purposes. Especially if the dungeon starts spacing into dumb management too. If usung the sewage for fertilizer perhaps the dungeon may even have an entire underground farm running via denizens or something. (cockroaches?) This would be an export for them. Are poo golems a thing? Sewers would probably invite a ton of invaders. Think of sewage treatment like you eating. You break down your food and create enough energy to at least write your post. Why can't sewers do the same? If it expands deep enough to reach magma could it slowly run filtered fluid through pipes in there to cause it to boil and disinfect the fluid? (Water cools down pipes but they take that heat away to further up, perhaps through radiators throughout the city? Allowing for colder climate habitation? (Generates food, fertilizer, promotes hygiene in a city, and heats the settlers homes. I'd say that's a win. More residents means more sewage means more mana...etc. how many dungeons have we seen things decompose in? Idk. Guessing here.

Chrystal 1776

I know dragons were kinda hinted at but I'd be curious about the rest too!

Raufgar

1) Is the criteria for inter-Dungeon communications tied to the number of linked Dungeons? Like, is Thediem just 1 or 2 shy of getting an intranet? 2) Can a Dungeon create another Dungeon? Can we see a baby Thediem? 3) If Thediem expands upwards, will he get a floating island? If he expands towards the forest, will he get a fey spawner? If he maxes the fey spawner, can he grow a hot elf for Tarl? 4) If Rezlar becomes a Resident, will Thediem get Fourdock as his domain by default? 5) What are the spawners that will eventually result in Dwarven Enclaves? Kobold Enclaves? Goblin Enclaves? Orc Enclaves? I refuse to believe they are the result of transmigrations!

Sir Real Killer

!? Which chapter? I don't remember any hints of dragons

Chrystal 1776

Not in a chapter if memory served but I think Khenal either mentioned something about dragons in the comments of a peek where or on one of the spoiler channels in the discord. I'm sorry my memory is failing me here and I'm not finding it atm. I do remember that the theory immediately afterwards was that the monster that destroyed the dungeon that couldn't let go of it's kobolds was a dragon.

Sir Real Killer

LOL thanks and don't worry my memory is failing too

Chrystal 1776

What memory? Who are you? What were we talking about again?
