Yes, it's time for a new nudge!  The last year has been incredible, thanks to all of your support.  I never imagined my weird story about a living location could draw so much interest.  When I first wrote it, I wasn't expecting to share it with anyone, but now there's a book deal and everything!  I hope the new year goes well for everyone, and I hope you all have new things you'd like to have a peek of.  Thank you again, everyone, for your support.  It means so much to me.Khenal

PS: before I forget, let's see if we can get enough for a q&a, too!  Simple questions are just as appreciated as more complex ones!

The-Guy-Who-Asks

Is there such thing as a ghost spawner? Are there spawners for constructs (animated armors, living mannequins, fantasy androids, etc.)? What category are mimics? Do changeling dwellers come from the mimic spawner? Is Aberration a category of denizen? Do Beholders/Eye Tyrants, Kuo-toa/Deep Ones, and/or Mind Flayers/Illithids exist in your setting? If so, are they denizens or dwellers? Are owlbears a thing in your setting? If a dungeon picks constrictors for a snake spawner would it make tsuchinokos eventually or would that be a different path? What are Tarl’s affinities and what is his class?

Brandon C

Are the peeks are going into the book? What do some of other cooperative dungeons do? Are there dragons? If so, maybe their horde is actually to lure delvers to their dungeon home What are some of their legendary people? Undoubtedly Thediem and company have and will surpass them, but what is considered legendary feats to accomplish?

Kindred

do undead residents continue to gain exp and level up as they would in life? or are they stuck at the strength and level they had when they became a resident undead, like our birb girl will she eventually fall behind her party members due to no longer growing or will she be able to keep on par with them, possibly eventually having to get a new group in the far future when her party members retire or fall either to battle or age?

Kindred

the peeks will be in the books there are dragons! TDM even has a spawner for them which is how he got Nova!

Stickboy172

Are there illusion enchanting traps, or alchemical mist that makes one loose ones sense of direction... I would love to get another peek of Queen experimenting With the limited chemistry knowledge TDM has. And thing with game enchantments.

1. What is going to be in store for the final upgrades for the raven and snake spawners? Will we get lamias and kenku? 2. When will the lighthouse be finished, and does hullbreak have ideas on what to populate it with? 3. Are there other instances of reincarnation in this world(not necessarily dungeons, but other humanoid races)? Like, do they have an 'otherworlder' trope? 4. How many pairs of boots will be marching thediems way, come the spring thaw? 5. Have any other influential dungeons heard about Thediem yet? 6. What is the typical growth rate for a normal dungeon, like days to first scion or first expansion, that kinda thing. Just to give us some context for how much Thediem is breaking the mold. 7. Will Thediem ever decide to expand into the water, or will he leave that for hullbreak?

Blue Trooper

I will ask when I have the capacity to think. Today I am sick and barely thinking. Sorry. Loads of questions coming.

Vik M.

What are the broad categories of denizens?

PickledTink

1: In light of the earlier disaster that drove Hullbreak to be near murderous, will the local dungeon co-op be installing a breakwater to prevent rogue waves from causing problems? 2: With the spacial affinity, we see shortcuts being a thing. This implies, but does not confirm, that it would be possible to create stable portals between different locations. Is this the case? 3: There are many kinds of animal kin, are there actual animals that match that? Are those animals, Cats for example, dungeon monsters or regular surface animals? Given the implication that all life came from dungeons originally, how does this square with Enclaves being the only known "out" for dungeon creatures to become mundane wandering beings? 4: Is there any upper limit to how large a dungeon can grow, assuming they can still keep obtaining mana? 5: Why have delvers/dungeoneers relied on tools (Such as the dungeon breaking hammer) to try to assassinate murderous dungeons when they could just catch an invader and press it to the core? It seems like such an obvious solution to a bad problem. If it is just mana overload causing mutation in the creature to make it very dangerous, they could just do it briefly before switching to a new invader until the core is gone. Not like they are rare.

Topaz Moon (Alchemist)

Has TDM thought anymore about the upward expansion, or the expansion into the woods on the other side of the cemetery that he mentioned when thinking about beating up Hullbreak. Since the guild know lots about the dungeons, are new ones popping up very common? Also are dungeons dying in general common? If so what is the average dungeon lifespan?

Question: What is the regular life like at the Elf country capital day-to-day? What of the Red Rose adventurers guild?

jkbscopes

Peek idea: we haven't heard much from Thing and Queen recently, what are they up to Q&a: it's clear there are dungeons unknown to the ODA, can you give us a ballpark number of how many there might be?

Navar44

Peek idea: Those Guild Tournaments talked about back when the local adventurers guild got their trophy for helping take down Neverest. They're mentioned, but how do they work? What sort of scoring is there? How does one even win something like that?

Sturstryk

Question(s): will Violet ever expand towards reaching the surface? Or has that even crossed her mind? Has she ever sent one of her scions up to the surface and experienced it through their perspective and, if so, what was her reaction to witnessing such an alien new world above her comfy, cozy caves?

Sturstryk

Basically, I'm interested in the perspective of a dungeon that has only been in "the depths" to what the surface is like ... that isn't a mass-murdering, gluttonous, megalomaniacal psychopath.

The_Lone_Wanderer

Is Adamantine a thing in this world? And is it it’s own thing or is it an alloy?

Sturstryk

Question: in what ways, if any, has Violet been exceeding expectations for a newly-formed dungeon? Obviously she hasn't had the ludicrous growth and mana generation that Thedium has had, but as his protégé she's bound to be progressing faster and in more ways than a baby dungeon normally would ... I'd just like to know how?

Ch W

Who else challenges Rocky and how often is he challenged? Do townfolk and/or delvers swing by to just spectate? Are there any professional musicians in Fourdocks and are they able to delve? Were there originally bedrooms in the manor that got converted to become public workspaces? Can you remind us readers of what open workshops/labs he's set up where?

Sturstryk

Bonus Question: is there any area, aside from developing the metalworks, that Violet has actually been progressing at a better rate than her mentor?

Buster_Bro

So I have two questions I’ve never voiced. First do the enclaves have stands at Rocky’s arena to sell Thedium merchandise? Like simple snacks for viewers and or little trinkets? The second one which I’m not sure is going to answered is, will the local crown send someone to speak with Thedium either a crown dungeoneer or some such? Or are we going to see straight up Royalty come by eventually to try and get a class or just levels?

Kindred

well considering the crown inspector is on his way in the spring.. I think its already clear what the answer to the question is :P

Alex Turff

One of violet's scions went on theDM's tutorial tour for Hullbreak, so has seen the surface

Magnadra

I didn't had time to read the story for the last few months but I tried to catch up in 2024. So if the question is already answered you can gladly ignore it: Jarsto from the Main Dungeoneer's Guild Branch wanted to send a side note to the legal department for the Yvonne case. Did the legal department do anything? And congratulations on your book deal

13L00D13ANE

I remember Khenal alluded to some of the metal mixtures being similar, but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

13L00D13ANE

Maybe they pick out a dungeon and the first to clear it wins? That could potentially allow Thediem to host the next tournament

Raufgar

Khenal-senpai, here are my questions! 1. Does being a Dungeon mean that the Mansion does not require structural maintenance? After all, Thediem's opening new rooms and underground caverns... 2. A Peek at an actual Cloistered Dungeon (can't recall if there was one already) 3. I understand the need for keeping it family-friendly, but can we have a Peek at a Dungeon that manifested inside an active brothel? Or in an active gladiator's arena? Or in an actual dungeon that is still in use and sees traffic? 4. A Peek at a Dungeon that grows inside a living tree, mutual symbiosis. 5. Lastly, a Peek on a Scion that is wandering around the world because it doesn't want to return to its Dungeon due to some reason. Maybe boredom.

13L00D13ANE

I think the peeks are reserved for a specific tier, so maybe bro just hasn't had access to them. Sonata! In like.. 2, 3 peeks starting a few weeks to like a month back, we got a peek of the king going over financial reports, one of the crown inspector planning a trip to thediem, and then there was another one that was relevant... I forget.

13L00D13ANE

I still firmly believe 'up' will grant him an afterlife. Maybe down far enough will give him a hell hahahaha

Buster_Bro

The peeks are canon? I didn’t think they were.

13L00D13ANE

In reference to #5, remember what happened to fluffles, and nevverrest was a moderate dungeon, by no means very large or very strong. Imagine what would happen if some random direrat absorbed a hefty chunk of a dungeon. I would imagine it'd experience explosive growth, and in all likelihood be far too much for a party to handle. That's just a guess tho, obvs.

Garrat Wolfrim

now you can get your very own dungeon core chia pet

Garrat Wolfrim

since bag of holding is a space between spaces technically speaking a back holding could have two entrances that can exist in completely different spaces on one map, leading to the same subspace on another

Garrat Wolfrim

I hope you’re feeling better trooper. Take care of yourself.

Sugarpacketaddict

I’d like to see something on the actual effect of some of the titles

Ethan B.

Happy New Year!! I hope you have a good one! Here's mine: What kind of holidays are the biggest in the dungeon world?

Khenal

the peeks are soft canon, especially the earlier ones. Ones that make it into the books are hard canon. The one with the crown inspector is very likely to make it into a book.

Alex Turff

Late idea for a potentially funny peek: the delver's experience with shortcuts. Denizens appearing out of walls, healing slimes dropping from the ceiling; tiny running at a wall and just vanishing!
