I'm from Denmark. Here the country has been locked down for about a month. We may go outside without some speciel purpose, but we need to stick to certain things like, keeping distance, not meet in groups larger than 10 people etc. Right now we're just started to open up a little, as the amount of hospitalised is dropping, so kindergarten and first levels of elementary school is opening up. The plan with this is to make it possible for people start working, and not take care of their kids - thereby saving all the different businesses which are about to go out of business. I really enjoy following your Game Engine series. It really helps with understading how you actually make a Game Engine. Thanks for that :) A suggestion regarding what I/we wanna see - You have talked about the STL library often is rewritten by companies, so it's optimised for their specific needs. It could be interesting to maybe start making videos about possible optimisations to the standard STL. Lastly, thanks for all the great content :)

Regarding the Covid-19 situation: we are having "demonstrations" now here in germany cause of the lockdown. Because our government actually threw our constitution overboard - and people don't like that all basic rights are non-existent anymore. Regarding Hazel: I think before we implement scripting we should provide a system (ECS) as a base to be able to actually use scripts on game objects and make them communicate via scripts.

Hey Cherno, thanks for the exciting updates :D Have you considered shifting, maybe only occasionally, the schedule of the livestream so that euro folks can watch live? For example, late afternoon in your timezone would correspond to early morning here. Edit: I know it's tricky tough, cause you probably have viewers from everywhere :P

Houston, TX. Still crazy and locked down but a lot of us have starting going back into the office. I really enjoy the live streams. Especially when I’m by myself programming lol.

College has been a crazy experience as we get closer to the end of the semester with finals. Programming (for fun) has definitely been the one thing keeping me sane these past few weeks!

Covid-19: I'm in Minnesota USA. It isn't as strict here as it sounds there but I do limit myself to only going out once a week for groceries. I retired from programming a week before this whole Coronavirus because a thing ... yea that was bad timing. My last job was a senior dev / lead on rub/rails projects. Spent most of my time gathering/writing specs, reviewing code and dealing all the "fun" of agile. I haven't done C++ for a job in like 20 years but I have been coding C++ for UE4 for about 3 years. (Steam says I've logged 2557 hours in VR coding ... jeabus been at this a while) Did a quick peak. Currently have 391 cpp/h files (not that volume = quality...). All landscape is procedurally generated. Animation is custom. Day/Night cycle implemented with time dilation baked in. All the logic lives in C++ (except materials & particle effects). I understand the basics of vectors and Quats (because I had to...) Unlisted vid of the game. This is from a year ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T50siZb4Yuo I now have the luxury of choosing where to spend my dev time. I've chosen to stop work on the game to watch all the vids on your channel (and leave annoying comments...) I like to think of your channel as a series of Masterclasses, only more practical. Maybe when I get all caught up I'll have a clue of what to ask for but for now just keep doing what your doing. Congrats on your faster internet. Hello from Wisconsin USA. In regards to Covid-19, the rules here have been very lax and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of enforcement anyways. Despite the rules being very lax, my personal experience has been that very few people have been following even the most basic rules. I've stopped going to grocery stores even and preferred delivery services, because people either don't seem to care about the six feet rule, or have a very poor estimate about what 6 feet actually looks like. There's also a not so small minority of people who are vehemently protesting any sort of quarantine restrictions. They have valid concerns about the effect restrictions have on businesses and the local economy at large, but they are also congregating in large groups and not taking precautions seriously. This all has me a bit worried about how effectively the virus will be dealt with. It isn't so bad because I am a person who very much enjoys their home and likes the extra solitude. I find myself having a similar experience to you in that I'm also finding much more time for programming and loving it. The only real negative to my life personally is that this is the time of the year in Wisconsin when we start to get nice weather, and normally I would be balancing my life a bit more by going out for runs, playing basketball/baseball, etc., I don't really feel safe doing either at the moment and want to do my part in avoiding spreading illness as well, so I've been finding ways to enjoy the weather just from my porch. Regarding Hazel; I don't really have any suggestions, I've only just started the series anyways (just watched the Precompiled Headers video). Just wanted to say thank you for providing this series in such an accessible and all-encompassing way, I truly feel that this information was not available elsewhere online. I'm learning more than ever about game development and feeling a huge boost of motivation and inspiration to do more work. I even asked my wife to turn off my PC at a certain point, otherwise I'll stay up way too late working...a fun little sign of the times maybe. Thanks for all you do!

Hey, we (in the Munich area Germany) are in lockdown like most european countries, but it is not too bad cause we are allowed to do Sport outside, Which really helps for me. So I would like to see all the computer graphics stuff like shadow mapping, AO, and so on. But honestly everything (ECS, editor, physics) sounds very interesting, so what ever I am looking forward to it. Stay safe and enjoy the fast Internet.

Hey there. So here in Sao Paulo, Braxil the lockdown is scheduled to relax on May 10th. But govt dept are resuming bureaucratic work on May 1st. I've been a developer for the US, working home office full time, since 2011 so what people call quarantine I call lifestyle. About Hazel, I'm excited about it. Don't want to jump the gun here but I'd love to see some Networking programming for multi-player interaction. Stay safe, stay clean, happy coding.

Having binged through the Game Engine series in 3 weeks, due to having much more spare time, I’ll probably take bad if you’re not releasing at a rate of 4 new Game Engine videos per day to match my viewing speed this month 😉 But seriously, I’d definitely like to see ECS soon, but it might be worth doing a video or two on how to extend the testbed to make games with Hazel as it is now e.g. setting up the 2d renderer/camera to work in screen coordinate space rather than OpenGL screen space. I saw 0x used a Viewport class for his Boulderdash game and I had to find something on LearnOpenGL (as OpenGL is new to me), to see how to setup the camera to work in 1:1 screen pixel space for a pixel buffer test. As cloning simple arcade games might be a common thing people might want to start with when using the 2D Hazel we have (maybe just me)

Looks pretty slick! The grid seems like t's a geometry as opposed to lines (?) Or is a texture? Maybe I'm imagining it... :D
