I thought I recognised the shape of that keep! Nice.

Nope, but I've been going "Oooh!" at castle plans for over forty years now. :-) And Orford tends to show up quite often in books. One day I should probably actually visit.

That is awesome that it will have so many floors

Ohhhhhh I see! I didn't realise that Orford was quite so popular! It is one of my favourites for it's weird shape XD what about your favourite castles :D

Simon 'Landmine'

It's the weird shape that I recognised. :-) And it's impressively compact. I also like peel towers, brochs (not really castles), and asymmetric castles like Krak des Chevaliers, where the shape is forced by the landscape. However, my favourite (because my grandparents lived near it, so I visited it far too many times (as far as they were concerned)) is the overly picturesque (and defensively merely meh) Bodiam Castle in Sussex. https://dancefloorlandmine.smugmug.com/Places/2022-04-11-Bodiam-Castle/i-899BK7d

Being in the castle and looking at the floorplans are kinda jarring because the halls feels large but the rooms are so tiny, especially the chapel area XD Krak des Chevaliers looks SO cool, and pretty dang impressive! Also I am down to make Bodiam castle at some point - looks relatively simple to make ^^

Simon 'Landmine'

Yeah, Bodiam is a basically symmetrical outer shell, with buildings ranged around the inside of the wall. Thought of another impressive one earlier (after driving past it) - Arundel Castle (although that has been remodelled somewhat). And for manor houses, Ightham Mote is excellent.
