EnterTheCronic Newsletter: July Edition (July 10th to July 31st) (Patreon)
Content
What a month.
We travelled across Canada, celebrated birthdays, attended Kyle’s sister’s wedding, visited family we had not seen in years, watched far too much football, stayed in a pile of different Airbnbs, visited the Calgary Zoo, kept the reactions moving, and somehow returned home with most of our sanity still packed.
But the biggest update is not about the travelling, the channel, or even the Patreon numbers.
We are in the best mental space we have been in for years.
We have been spending more time with friends and family, getting out of the house, making real memories, and finding a much healthier balance between EnterTheCronic and everything outside of it. Your support has played a massive role in making that possible. Every membership, comment, request, message, livestream appearance, and minute you spend with us helps support our family and gives us more freedom to build this life properly.
And starting July 20th, everything changes again.
Alanna is coming home for good!
No more trying to build EnterTheCronic around two separate work lives. We will finally have more time to create together, plan together, be with the kids, connect with all of you, and still have enough energy left to enjoy our lives.
You helped make that possible, and we will never forget it.

Life Outside the Upload Button
Our road trip for Kyle’s sister’s wedding was one of the biggest family adventures we have ever taken. We drove from British Columbia to Saskatchewan with Oliver and Isaac, stayed in several different Airbnbs, visited relatives we had not seen in years, and made a ridiculous number of memories along the way.
The wedding was beautiful, but getting to reconnect with family meant just as much. Life can become very small when every day revolves around recording, editing, posting, parenting, and trying to remember what day it is. Getting away reminded us that there is a whole world outside the upload button.
The Calgary Zoo was another massive highlight. Watching the kids experience everything made the long drive completely worth it. We also discovered that staying in a new Airbnb every night is either a fun adventure or the beginning of a travel-based reality show, depending on how tired everyone is.
Later this month, we will be staying with our grandparents for two nights while some friends use our place for a wedding. It feels good to be seeing people again, helping friends, and spending more time around family. That connection has been a huge part of why we are feeling so much better.
Football Has Taken Over the House
We have been watching the World Cup almost every day, and seeing Canada reach the Round of 16 meant a lot to us. Every match became an event, and Kyle temporarily turned into a professional football analyst despite receiving absolutely no job offers from the Canadian coaching staff.
The tournament has felt even more special because Oliver recently started soccer himself. Watching him run around at his first Summer FC practice while Canada competed on the world stage was an incredible little family moment.
One day, we will be able to show him the pictures and tell him that while Canada was making its World Cup run, he was taking his own first steps onto a soccer field.
Birthdays, Driving and Other Terrifying Milestones
June was a big birthday month in our house. Alanna turned 33, and Avery turned 16.
Avery also got his learner’s licence already, which means there is officially another driver entering the family. We are proud of him, excited for him, and suddenly much more aware of every mailbox, curb, and parked vehicle in Sooke.
Alanna turning 33 also feels like the beginning of a huge new chapter. She has been beside EnterTheCronic through every stage, from the early videos and late nights to the community we have now. Starting July 20th, she gets to come home and be part of this full-time.
That might be the best birthday gift we could have asked for.
A Few “How Is This Our Life?” Moments
We also had some incredible channel moments this month.
Getting to interview Josette was a major highlight. We love reactions, but interviews let us go deeper and learn about the person, the story, and the work behind what we are watching. We would love to explore more opportunities like that.
Then a university professor reached out to us about the channel. Dr. Devori Kimbro teaches a Taylor Swift-themed English literature course, and several of her students had already found EnterTheCronic on their own.
That completely blew our minds.
The idea that our reactions and conversations are being discussed in a university classroom is something we never expected. She appreciated the way we connect lyrics to our lives, ask questions, and remain open to learning from the music and the community.
That is exactly what we want EnterTheCronic to be.
We also joined the Patreon Ambassadors Program, which is another milestone we are incredibly proud of. Patreon has become the heart of this community, so being recognized by the platform itself means a lot.
And yes, Toy Story 5 was incredible too. Somehow Taylor Swift, Pixar, emotional damage, and our channel all ended up in the same sentence again.
Patreon Is Still Going Wild
We are currently sitting at:
1,746 total members748 paid members998 free members
That is nearly 1,750 people connected to the EnterTheCronic Patreon community. Every one of those numbers represents someone choosing to follow the journey, support our family, watch a reaction, vote in a poll, or hang out with us.
The Lurkers remain the foundation with 623 members. This tier includes early access, blocked content, polls, livestreams, behind-the-scenes posts, the newsletter, community chats, direct messages, a sticker after three months, and giveaway entries whenever giveaways are active.
The Watchers are now at 18 members. This tier is becoming the inner-circle viewing room for people who want deeper updates, individual Kyle and Alanna lives, channel planning, behind-the-scenes conversations, patron recognition, and an ETC mug after three months.
Blue Pill is currently at 31 out of 35 spots filled. Members receive everything from the first two tiers, plus one monthly reaction request of up to 15 minutes, a T-shirt after three months, and additional giveaway entries.
The Chosen is sitting at 8 out of 10 spots filled and remains our smallest request tier, helping shape some of the biggest reactions we create.
The Lurkers support the foundation. The Watchers come behind the curtain. Blue Pill and The Chosen directly help shape what we react to.
Together, you have built an entire EnterTheCronic ecosystem.
July Livestreams
We have three Patreon livestreams planned this month.
Alanna will be live on July 21st for The Watchers and higher tiers. This will be one of her first lives after officially coming home, so expect life updates, channel talk, questions, and whatever direction the chat sends her.
Kyle will be live on July 26th for The Watchers and higher tiers. There will probably be music talk, football talk, channel updates, and at least one simple question that somehow becomes a 20-minute story.
Then both of us will be live together on July 28th for all paid tiers.
This one will be especially meaningful because Alanna will officially be home and we will be entering this next chapter together. The lives have quickly become one of our favourite ways to connect because there is no editing, no script, and no wall between us and the community.
We just get to hang out.
The Most Loved Posts
The leaderboard has shifted again, and Midnights came flying through the haze to take the top spot.
Here are the five most-liked posts from June 9th to July 10th:
1. Taylor Swift - Midnights FULL ALBUM REACTION | Vibing & Feeling the Haze — 106 likes
2. Taylor Swift’s Toy Story 5 Performance Had Us GONE — 86 likes
2. Taylor Swift - Ronan | This Broke Us as Parents — 86 likes
4. Taylor Swift’s Love Triangle Finally Clicked… | Betty, August & Cardigan Reaction — 79 likes
5. Taylor Swift - Out of the Woods REACTION | This Hit Like a Storm — 68 likes
This is a wild Top 5 because every reaction brought something completely different.
Midnights was an entire journey. Toy Story 5 was pure fun. Ronan was one of the hardest reactions we have ever recorded as parents. The folklore love triangle finally started clicking into place, and Out of the Woods hit with all the force its title promised.
You showed up for the joy, the heartbreak, the storytelling, the albums, and everything in between.
Folklore Looks Ready to Win
We recently opened the voting for our next full Taylor Swift album deep dive, and unless the poll takes a dramatic final turn, it looks like Folklore is going to win.
Honestly, that feels like perfect timing.
After finally understanding more of the Betty, August, and Cardigan story, Folklore has already started pulling us into its world. We know there are more connections, characters, lyrics, and emotional traps waiting for us.
We have now completed full reactions to The Tortured Poets Department, Midnights, and The Life of a Showgirl. Each album has felt completely different, and each one has changed how we understand Taylor as a writer.
Folklore feels like the next giant step.
We are excited.
We are curious.
We are absolutely not prepared.
The Rest of the Channel Is Moving Too
Taylor has obviously been a massive part of the channel, but the rest of EnterTheCronic has been busy too.
BTS continues opening more doors through the music, documentaries, tours, sketches, and the larger story behind their career. Our reaction to the “ARIRANG” in Tokyo sketch was another reminder that even their behind-the-scenes content can become a full experience.
Stray Kids also bent our brains with the “THIS & THAT” trailer. It answered almost nothing, created several new questions, and made us want the full project immediately. Mission accomplished.
We have also explored more from Noah Kahan, Tarja Turunen, MAPHRA, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo, SEVENTEEN, and many more artists through membership requests.
That variety is what keeps the channel exciting. One day we are breaking down a Taylor Swift bridge. The next day we are learning K-pop history. Then somebody sends us a metal vocalist capable of removing wallpaper through sound alone.
There is never a boring week around here.
Membership Reactions Keep Building the Channel
Membership requests remain one of the most important parts of Patreon.
Every request introduces us to something chosen by a real person in this community. Sometimes it is a favourite song. Sometimes it is a performance connected to a memory. Sometimes it is an artist someone has been waiting months for us to discover.
Those requests are not just boxes on a schedule.
They shape the channel.
They introduce us to artists we may never have found ourselves, bring overlooked performances back into the spotlight, and allow members to share something personally meaningful with us.
Blue Pill and The Chosen are both close to capacity again, and July is filled with a huge variety of requests. Thank you to everyone who has submitted something, waited patiently, explained why it matters, or shared the final reaction with other fans.
You are helping build the EnterTheCronic library one reaction at a time.
Alanna Coming Home Changes Everything
Starting July 20th, we finally get to build EnterTheCronic on the same schedule.
For years, we have worked around outside jobs, parenting, school, appointments, nap times, recording windows, editing nights, and whatever energy remained at the end of the day.
We made it work, but it was not always healthy.
Bringing Alanna home gives us more time to plan, record, connect with Patrons, improve the channel, spend time with the kids, see our friends and family, and build the future instead of constantly trying to catch up with the present.
It does not mean life will suddenly become perfectly organized. We still have three kids, which guarantees surprise side quests at all hours.
But we will finally be moving in the same direction together.
That is the real beginning of this next chapter.
Thank You
This month gave us a chance to step back and realize how much has changed.
We travelled across the country for a family wedding, reconnected with relatives, visited the Calgary Zoo, watched Oliver begin soccer, celebrated Alanna and Avery’s birthdays, welcomed a new learner driver into the family, interviewed Josette, heard from a university professor who discusses our channel with her students, joined the Patreon Ambassadors Program, and reached 1,746 Patreon members.
Now Alanna is coming home.
The biggest thing we can say is that we are happy. We feel hopeful, connected, and excited about what we are building again.
Your support has helped us reach this place.
Thank you for watching, reading, voting, requesting, commenting, joining the lives, sharing your stories, and welcoming us into the music and artists you love.
Whether you are a free member, a Lurker, a Watcher, Blue Pill, The Chosen, or someone quietly following the journey, you are part of this community.
Let us know your favourite EnterTheCronic moment from the last month, which upcoming reaction you are most excited for, and what you would love to see more of once Alanna is officially home.
This next chapter feels healthier, happier, and more connected.
Much love to every single one of you.
Let’s keep building this together.
