We are not done with the Reputation era, Cronicans. Not even close.

"Look What You Made Me Do" is the song that announced the old Taylor was gone, and we've already sat with the track. But watching the behind the scenes of the music video is a completely different experience. You see the graveyard get built. You see the bathtub of diamonds set up shot by shot. The snakes, the throne, the plane, that ladder at the end with every past Taylor climbing over each other to get to the top. And what hits you is that none of it is accidental. Every frame is her answering something that had been said about her, and she planned all of it to the inch.

The thing that got us in the chairs was how much fun she's clearly having. This is supposed to be the angriest song of her career, and behind the camera she is laughing. That stuck with both of us.

We've talked about this before, the two of us — there are seasons where you have to let an old version of yourself go so the new one has room to show up. It's uncomfortable, nobody claps for you while you're in the middle of it, and you mostly just feel like you've lost something. Watching Taylor stage that on purpose, publicly, with an actual graveyard scene, there's something honest in it. She didn't wait for permission to become the next thing.

So tell us: what was the moment YOU knew Reputation was going to be a different kind of album? Was it this video, or was it something earlier? Drop it in the comments — we read every one of them.

Thank you for being here and for making this deep dive possible.

Love you, Cronicans.— Kyle & Alanna
