Zhao is not Zuko's dad. Not sure how you came to that conclusion. In episode 3 Zhao has a whole monologue about how much Zuko's dad hates him and that he's sad Zuko's dad won't be there to watch Zhao kick his ass

I realized later in the episode the Firelord was his dad. Didn't realize Zhao was the same guy in episode 3 at the time.

The village they're in on Episode 9 is a fire nation controlled port in the earth kingdom. So there's plenty of Earth kingdom and fire nation people there.

For the guys having their swords knocked out of their hands, arrows impact hard af. It'd be hard not to drop your sword if somebody shot the hilt with an arrow. Considering longshot uses a pretty typical short bow, that's about 30lbs, hitting a 5lb sword. Imagine somebody launching a 30lb weight at your hand and then wondering why you dropped what you were holding.

Sorry if my comments seem nitpicky, it's not my intention lol

The comet will make Aang's firebending more powerful, it will affect every firebender. That's the issue though, the fire nation has thousands of firebenders, and Aang is one person. The Fire Nation's armies are involved in a massive land war currently which hasn't really been shown yet but has definitely been mentioned, and and the comet would enable them to turn that 100 year stalemate into a win in minutes.

Not a japanese anime, but ATLA is my most rewatched animated series lol

One thing to remember is that bending is derived from Chinese martial arts. So someone like aang who’s already mastered 1 form is clearly going to have a much easier time to learn a new form than someone like Katara who’s a complete novice. That’s usually the case with people who are highly skilled at anything. If your really good at something, those people tend to pick up new skills quicker
