Hey friends. It's another VHS tape rip. God, we're so close to the end of Game Tech Video I can almost taste it. This series has gotten pretty long in the tooth, which is an absolutely astounding thing for me to feel considering how much of these tapes involve historic footage of interesting games! What did people think about games of the era? What was popular? What was notable? I love that stuff! But there's all the Indiaman and Mr. X crap to suffer through... it's rough times, ya know?

GTV: Game Tech Video Vol. 13 [Feb. 1989] VHS Rip

The antepenultimate episode of Game Tech Video is here, and man does this series just keep falling further and further into its own tired schtick. Fully a third of this tape is given over to an "airing of grievances" skit as the staff wears hoods and complains (?) about game publishers. Also, Sophie gets really heated up about "Indiaman." I am ready for this series to end! And I highly recommend using auto-translate captions for this! At least there are some cool previews to see (sorry that the original source tape is pretty rough in places). 0:26 Sophie's Battle Royale & airing of grievances 3:35 ASCII 5:07 Konami 6:41 Jaleco 9:21 Square 12:32 Taito 15:40 Servant's Pages Presents! 16:31 Super Mario Bros. 3 trailer 17:02 GTV Professional 17:34 Preview Hour -- SPORTS -- 17:39 Ganbare Pennant Race 21:02 Baseball Stars 21:49 Goal! 22:35 Winning Shot -- ROLE-PLAYING -- 23:30 Hydlide 3 25:06 Ultima Quest of the Avatar -- SIMULATION -- 26:40 Matsumoto Toru no Kabushiki Hisshougaku Part II -- ACTION -- 27:55 Wonder Momo 28:58 Rolling Thunder 30:43 Patlabor 31:10 Wagyan Land -- ADVENTURE -- 34:07 Sekiryuuou 34:57 Yamamura Misa Suspense: Kyouto Hana no Misshitsu Satsujin Jiken 35:59 Nankin Adventure -- PUZZLE -- 36:33 Tetris 37:10 Sony DoDeCaHorn CD commercial 37:40 Wizardry III promo 38:09 Sophie interlude 38:27 Famikonto 40:15 Promo 40:25 Game Secrets 40:30 Kyokyuu Tiger 42:11 Mr. X's Techniques Please feel free to use clips from this video in any of your own projects—all I ask for is a link back or credit.
