Rhaegar update (Patreon)

There are so many fascinating mysteries surrounding Rhaegar Targaryen:

- He was born amidst the tragedy of Summerhall, where an unexplained fire killed many important Targaryens (possibly a dragon hatching ritual?)

- He grew up bookish, until one day he read "something in his scrolls" that suddenly made him decide to become a warrior

- Along with Aemon Targaryen, he was interested in the prophecy of the prince that as promised, believing himself, then later his son Aegon, to be the prophesied hero

- Rhaegar seems to have been plotting to dethrone his mad father Aerys, or at least to "call a council" and "make changes"

And all that goes without even mentioning Rhaegar's relationship with Lyanna Stark, and the birth of Jon Snow - which may itself be tied up in Rhaegar's interpretation of the prince that was promised, and the three heads of the dragon...

So there's a heap of cool stuff to explore with Rhaegar. The more I think about it, the more I think a Rhaegar video would need to be quite long and complex – so it's probably best that I save Rhaegar until after the Cersei video's done.

If I do put out a shorter video before Cersei, it may be on the Knight of the Laughing Tree, or maybe the story of Nettles and the Burned Men (which is a very minor but very cool detail from the Dance of the Dragons). Will keep you posted!
