This video was completed in just a week, which has got to be some kind of record for Alt Shift X. Lately we’ve tended towards the massive elaborate 20-minute analyses which take weeks to make – but it’s nice to get back to basics with these shorter videos occasionally. Tight focus on a specific question, evidence from the text, and a sweet thematic conclusion to tie things together.. It was also fun to sneak in a Breaking Bad reference (:

Anyway, with Rhaegar and Tyrion’s tongue done, the focus for December will be on the Jaime video. Get keen!

Thanks

WOW another video out! Thank you! This was short but really well done. The advertising at the end wasn’t too long. Adding breathing to the list of skills you can learn to improve was pretty funny. Nice work all around. I’m leaning towards Cersei first then Euron or Varys equally second for cutting out Tyrion’s tongue. Revenge / punishment seems to make the most sense with Tyrion. Cutting out his tongue doesn’t ensure he’ll keep a secret as he’s literate. He can still read and write so unless he was blind as well, that wouldn’t be the best plan.

Paul Vahur

That was SUPER fast. Great video, missed the short ones :-)

Rikke Holmberg

You don’t think Daenerys could go full mad Queen and cut out Tyrions tounge?

RTT12

Yes, exactly. Varys trying to keep a secret makes no sense, unless he also kept him under strict guard, and then what's the point? If Cersei got her hands on him, she wouldn't stop at the tongue. Euron would be my prime candidate, if this happened. He may take the tongue on the way to bring him to Cersei, and then something happens to prevent them from arriving.

Paul Barry

I don’t think Dany can go full Mad Queen. George has already sent Cersei pretty bonkers, and if he did the same to Dany, his feminist credentials would have to be called into question.

Jamie

Great video, so hyped to get two videos in a week! Keep it up!

Jenny Zina Tavares

Very nice video; intriguing topic, but I hope it doesn't happen. I'd think it won't in the show (by Cersei) since Tyrion is on a boat headed north. In the books...who knows.

Fabian Kester won the Schwifty Squwad QuizUp Tourney yesterday. A resounding victory. In addition he is ranked number one in the world on the topic of ASOIAF. He is an ardent supporter of all things Alt. Just thought let you should know. I couldn’t wait so I started ACOK. What a fuckin’ bananas, balls to the wall book. So many classic Tyrion quotes. And Cersei and a handful of pitch perfect griping from Our boy Edd. Truly beautiful stuff. Tyrion’s tongue video is great. Punchy, succinct and thought provoking video. Cheers and yeast spreads for everyone

Also I read a disturbing study on overusing vitamin B6, B12, and folic acid ( B9). I suggest you research the topic on your own and try not to kick the Wull before we dream of Spring. Be Well. Have Fun. Nice microphone

Alt Shift X

Yeah good points guys. I still feel that Varys' conspiracy could be a really fitting reason for Tyrion to be de-tongued.. and Tyrion's history with Cersei makes her an appropriate culprit... but yeah Euron probably makes the most sense on a purely practical level.

Alt Shift X

I'm hoping that Daenerys' story will ultimately have her overcome the temptation of violence. But as BryndenBFish lays out in his "Dragon's Mercy" essays, there seems to be a lot more violence in her future.. so yeah, maybe Tyrion will be one of her victims :/

Rikke Holmberg

He beat Oyster in the final and was named Schwifter of the month.. Oyster is still seething with fury and envy. Just thought you should know ;)
