I think it would be pretty great if the She-Wolves foreshadowed the Great Council. Egg could empathize with one or more candidates for the wolf throne, especially if one or more of them do not actually want to be the Stark heir. That would set him up with a recurring dread at the realization that heirs to a throne are being exploited by various factions that do not give a shit about their potential heir beyond their role as a living anchor to power. Dunk could settle the power struggle by becoming the champion of the most reluctant heir and beating someone up. After which, Dunk sits him on the throne, throws a party, then leaves, thinking himself a hero... only to find out on the road that the heir he championed was immediately assassinated after he left. That would set Dunk up with a lifelong fear of the same happening to Egg, which might motivate his decision to be a Kingsguard.

Gotta say, I’m just a touch surprised you’re both so excited about 10 seasons of Dunk & Egg without books to adapt. It was always my worst nightmare - to see my favourite novellas go the way of seasons 5-8 of GoT. Before you say ‘Ira Parker is far from D&D’, D&D did incredibly well for 4 seasons. So one season is no guide. Sorry, but I also didn’t get off on The Hedge Knight season so much. The high notes were hit, but they also muffed a lot. Swapping fart jokes and oversized members for support of the commoners and distain from the Lords wasn’t a good choice imo. Too many cheap gags in place of already superb material…no it wasn’t 9 Kingdoms… I worry about The Sworn Sword, but for different reasons. I think it’s actually hilariously funny. But the humour is subtle. Harry Lloyd makes it funnier than if you read it yourself. The dead daughter part is classic. Lots with the chickens. The classic Wat & Wat & Wat. In clumsy hands I fear Septon Sefton could be turned into Mr Creosote. And the rest could just be missed entirely. I’m still hoping for the best. I guess your positivity warms me…a little!
