The mysteries of House Stark and Winterfell run deep. For this video, we focus on the possibility of the Starks having white walker blood – it’s a fascinating idea that lots of readers haven’t heard of, and it might even be relevant to the end of Season 8…

But there’s heaps more Stark stuff to discuss – we could do whole videos just on the crypts, or the ancient Starks, or Winterfell in A Dance with Dragons… Most of the research and writing is already done on the crypts, so we could turn that into a video pretty quick.

But the final season of Game of Thrones is fast approaching – the first proper trailer is probably days away. So it’s time to make some recap / summary kinda content. At the moment, there’s a quick overall recap in the works, as well as a deeper summary of Arya’s arc – would like to do a bunch of character vids leading up to Season 8. What other pre- Season 8 content do you wanna see?

Fantastic theory-crafting. This treads the perfect line between plausibility and potential thematic and narrative significance. Large claims that could shift our fundamental understanding of the story, yet just believable enough that it might be true. The Lovecraftian influence is really what sold me - the thought that the story of the Starks is unwitting (by the majority of Starks who are unaware of their white-walker lineage) denial of some evil intrinsic to their identity and heritage with the iron symbology as the crowning detail. Moreover, it plays well into the ever-popular prediction that Jon will have to sacrifice himself to assuage the threat. It makes the Stark’s story more tragic, and, well, stark.

Great job ASX! It mostly answered one of my questions I was saving for the next live stream. I guess I was on the right wavelength. "Do you think it's possible that the White Walkers might be owed an old debt that hasn't been paid and they are coming to collect? Craster was left in peace because he gave them all of the newborn males from his incest harem. Season 4 "Oathkeeper" we see Craster's son finally being turned. Gilly and Sam escaped to Castle Black with Craster's last son. I don't think that the Night King would march his horde South just for Gilly's son, but could it be an echo of perhaps a similar older debt?

I always thought the minor sacrifice of babies to the white walkers through the Night Fort Baby Exchange was ( were?) helping to keep magic alive in the world. You know, keep the glass candles burning in the House of Urrothon. And then Good Queen Alysanne comes along and fucks it all up. Here is the timeline. -58AC The Sassmaster Queen Aly sees the Nightfort and says “ bloody hell! What the fuck you all get up to in the North? Shut it down. Dude, stop giving babies away to the ice monsters. And everyone move back 500 leagues. We will call it the New Gift and try to forget you dudes are into kinky, incest, monster shit.” -153AC. The last dumb dragon dies. Nobody gives a shit. It’s the size of a cairn terrier. Whatever. Aprox 200AC The House of Urrathon goes dark. No more glass candles. No more reading at night. Then Craster comes along and starts dishing out fresh warm incest babies. Right out of the womb of a daughter/granddaughter/great granddaughter and into the hands of Icy-Eye Joe. Is it a coincidence that after a time Dragons starting taking form again and Urrathon got his shit together and turned the lights back on ? It’s all connected. Sidenotes~ …the Crypts of Winterfell connect to a rich Underground network that spans from Dorne to the Frost Fangs. …Tywin was Sterile.

Yeah, I like the ‘What’s up with...’ as well. Or you could go full-on clickbaitery and call it ‘Will Jon be the next Night King?’ or even ‘Jon: Snow or Ice?’. Love the vid.
